Marko Mihojević (Bosnian pronunciation: [mâːrko mixǒːjeʋitɕ]; born 21 April 1996) is a Bosnian professional footballer who plays as a centre back for 2. Bundesliga club Erzgebirge Aue, on loan from PAOK, and the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

Mihojević started his professional career at Leotar, before joining Sarajevo in 2014. Four years later he moved to PAOK, who loaned him to OFI later that year. In 2019, he was loaned to Erzgebirge Aue.

A former youth international for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mihojević made his senior international debut in 2018.

Early careerEdit

Mihojević came through Leotar's youth academy.[1] He made his professional debut against GOŠK Gabela on 6 October 2012 at the age of 16.[2]

In February 2014, Mihojević joined youth academy of Sarajevo, and in July of the same year, he signed a four-year contract with the team.[3] On 19 October 2016, he scored his first professional against Kozara Gradiška.[4]

He was made club captain in June 2017.[5]

PAOKEdit

On 31 January 2018, Mihojević signed with Greek side PAOK until December 2020 for an undisclosed transfer fee.[6] He made his competitive debut over three months later against Platanias.[7] Mihojević won his first trophy with the club on 12 May, by beating AEK Athens in Greek Cup final.[8]

In August 2018, Mihojević was sent on a season-long loan to OFI.[9]

In July 2019, he was loaned to Erzgebirge Aue until the end of season.[10]

International careerEdit

Mihojević represented Bosnia and Herzegovina on all youth levels.[11]

In January 2018, he received his first senior call-up, for friendly games against United States and Mexico.[12] Mihojević debuted in a goalless draw against former on 28 January.[13]
