Planning to AfD edit

Hello, @Johnsagent and Stuartyeates: I plan to nominate this article for deletion soon. I was about to decline its submission as a draft when it was approved and moved to the mainspace. The nomination statement I would use in the AfD is visible below. Because of the below concerns, I request one of the following is done by either or both of you: 1.) revert the article to the draftspace and incubate it further so that it can be published in a manner that it conforms to Wikipedia policy on original research or 2.) it be rapidly improved in the mainspace to be in conformity with policy. If either fails to materialize within the week (+a couple days, as it's a busy time of year), I'll move to delete. See my comments below:

"This article runs afoul of a few things. Such a list is entirely original research. A scholarly article or book that lists Coloradan political scandals should be the first resource for something like this, rather than unconnected news articles. Additionally, this article suffers from such a high degree of recentism and editor-selected criteria (again, back to that NOR issue) that I think we should blow it up and start over. Where is the political fall out from the Sand Creek, Ludlow, and Columbine Mine massacres? What of the 1893 Silver Crash, the Denver Klan, or Depression-era closure of the New Mexico border? Until someone finds a comprehensive source on this topic, I don't Wikipedia can rightly have it as an article. Far better suited as a category." ~ Pbritti (talk) 17:59, 4 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

User:Pbritti, an AfD would be good. There's also List of Alabama political scandals and List of Arkansas political scandals. Stuartyeates (talk) 18:35, 4 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Stuartyeates: I'll tag for clean up on those today and place PRODs in a few days to give maximum opportunity for improvement in the mainspace. Only fair given that you and other experienced AfCers approved the drafts. Would you suggest a joint nomination if an AfD looks needed? ~ Pbritti (talk) 18:54, 4 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
User:Pbritti, if you like. May want to mention the AfD at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Articles_for_creation. Thing is that this is at the intersection of three areas, lists, politics and BLP and the applicability of the rules is not entirely clear. Stuartyeates (talk) 19:41, 4 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Pbritti and @Stuartyeates: There are also the articles List of Arizona political scandals, and List of California political scandals that may have similar issues. All 5 of these articles also have titles that are inconsistent with the title of articles like List of federal political scandals in the United States. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 07:57, 5 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Inconsistent title edit

The title of this article is inconsistent with other lists of political scandals. The wording is also not a natural title. The titles of these articles are generally worded as being a "List of political scandals in <place>" or as a type of scandal such as a "List of <description> political scandals". For example, the article: List of federal political scandals in the United States uses both conventions. The title is also inconsistent with the titles for the corresponding subcategory in the main category about Political scandals in the United States by state or territory. This article should be named "List of political scandals in Colorado" or be written in the descriptive version "List of Coloradan political scandals". - Cameron Dewe (talk) 07:49, 5 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
