Vianova S.p.A. (formerly Welcome Italia S.p.A.) is an Italian joint-stock company, founded in 1998, specialized in offering integrated telecommunications and cloud computing services whose suite of services is aimed at businesses, VAT numbers and professionals, to multinational companies.[3]
History
editWelcome Italia S.p.A. was founded by brothers Stefano and Giovanni Luisotti in 1998 and the following year, in 1999, it obtained the license to become a national telephone operator.
In 2006, it acquired a 67% share of Vola S.p.A., a Viareggio company that offers mass SMS sending services.
On April 22, 2016, the company announced the acquisition of 51% of Colt Engine S.r.l., operator of hosting and Internet domain registration services, which has now become Host S.p.A.[4] In the same year, it also acquired 40% of NetResults S.r.l. which offers VoIP, MoIP, Unified Communication and Collaboration and IoT solutions.
In June 2016, it announced the opening of a second data center in Montacchiello in addition to the one in Massarosa.[5] The two data centers are linked by a fiber-optic ring. In July 2016, Welcome Italia signed an agreement with TIM for the launch of a Mobile Virtual Network Operator on its network with the aim of using only the transmission network of the former monopolist.[6] The mobile offer launched by Welcome Italia is called Vianova Mobile, consistently with the fixed offer called Vianova.
On 21 September 2016, Welcome Italia acquired 51% of QboxMail S.r.l., a Prato-based company specialized in offering professional cloud email services.[7]
From 31 March 2021 the operator changed its company name to Vianova S.p.A.[8][9]
