Dukaan (transl. Shop/Market) is a 2024 Indian Hindi-language film about a young woman embarking on a courageous journey as a surrogate mother.[1][2] It's the directorial debut of screenwriter duo Siddharth Singh and Garima Wahal.
The film features Monika Panwar, Sikandar Kher, Soham Majumdar, Monali Thakur, and Vrajesh Hirjee in a cameo appearance. Popular singers like Arijit Singh, Shreya Ghoshal, Sunidhi Chauhan, Mohit Chauhan have sung for this film.

A special screening was organized in Ahmedabad and more than 300 surrogates were invited.[4] The film released worldwide on 5 April 2024.
Reception
editThe film received mostly negative reviews.
The Times of India rated 3/5, commenting "An intriguing concept that doesn’t reach its full potential".[5]
Pankaj Shukla from Amar Ujala rated 2/5.[6]
Rediff rated 1/5, saying "This Dukaan Delivers Only Baloney!" and "Its callous perspective and comical treatment of a sensitive matter makes a complete hash of things".[7]
OTTPlay of HT Media commented "The Year’s Worst Film Is Possibly Here" and "Dukaan centres on surrogacy, but unfolds as a cautionary tale on how not to make a film".[8]
