Many of the articles in this category have been placed there with the support of the book
Unbegaun, B. O. (1972). Russian Surnames. Oxford University Press.
One observes that the title of the book is "Russian Surnames", not "Russian-language Surnames". The latter phrase occurs nowhere in the literature. Would it not therefore be more sensible and correct to call the category "Russian surnames"?

I have the same question. The name for this category is obviously wrong, if not xenophobic. While every other ethnicity is linked to their own "surname" page, Russians have this "Russian-language surnames" with no obvious reason. I will change it to "Russian surnames" if no discussion follows, and will fix all Russian surnames linked to this category with time. AveTory (talk) 21:20, 6 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
