Do we really need this page?

edit

As the talk title says, what exactly is the purpose of this 'category', other than arbitrarily list people who once were detainees or prisoners, wherever that might have been, since it would be already mentioned in their own biography page. Unless this page is populated by ALL those who were EVER detained or imprisoned, famous or otherwise, this page is relatively 'pointless'. 109.153.105.18 (talk) 12:50, 13 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

This cat should only hold people of Polish birth - which Polanski e.g. is NOT, & who are PRESENTLY prisoners or detainees - not those who WERE once detained/imprisoned at one point in their lives. 109.153.105.18 (talk) 00:25, 17 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
Sure, but as I said, Polanski is NOT Polish, & neither was he ever detained or imprisoned in Poland. He is French born & doesn't belong there. 109.153.105.18 (talk) 01:05, 17 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
I didn't say anything about Polanski, I just addressed your other points. Good Ol’factory (talk) 06:17, 17 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
You did not address my points at all - & again, Polanski is NOT Polish, nor was he in a Polish prison or detained there, hence he does NOT belong here. 109.153.103.76 (talk) 05:38, 21 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
That's fine. I don't know anything about him and don't care whether he's in the category or not. I was addressing just the broader issues of whether a category is comprehensive or not. Good Ol’factory (talk) 22:29, 21 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
Fact remains he does not belong here - simply for not being Polish by birth or ever having been in a Polish prison. If you don't know anything about Polanski, make sure that what is added is factual. IT IS NOT. (I have a shared IP btw.) 81.151.4.133 (talk) 00:23, 14 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
That's an issue to be addressed on the article talk page, not here, since the article is added to the category through edits to the article page, not through edits to this category page. Good Ol’factory (talk) 22:40, 14 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
