Category name

It seems to me that this category should be "National Monuments in Arizona".

The "of" seems to denote a form of possession. Whereas national monuments are owned and protected by the federal government "National Monuments of the United States" seem correct. But this category seems to be more about location, therefore "in" seems more appropriate. My 2¢ — Eoghanacht ^talk 19:03, 1 March 2006 (UTC)

Categories of the Nat'l Monuments

Not to be technical, my choice, the word "of", is for the basic reasons: the Indian reservations are of Arizona, (and not in Arizona), and the geological features: Grand Canyon, Chiricahua Mountains, Sunset Crater, the volcanic areas of Flagstaff, are associated w/Basin and Range related, because the Pinacate Volcanic Field is abutting Southern Arizona, and Sonora, Mexico.

• Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument—Geology,Ecology
• Hohokam Pima National Monument
• Ironwood Forest National Monument—Biological

• Navajo National Monument
• Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument—Biology-Famous for the tourist/camera/Desert Flowers
• "Saguaro National Monument"—Biological-Sonoran Desert
  • now renamed: Saguaro National Park

• Tuzigoot National Monument

The 2:
(I forgot Saguara Nat'l Mon.), that are Biological/ Biomic–defined, help define parts of the Sonoran Desert, extending out of Arizona to the West, and out of Arizona to the East to meet the Chihuahuan Desert. I am not defending "of", but the 8 tribal monuments, some of them are also geologically–defined: the Chiricahuas, Canyon de Chelly, and Walnut Canyon.

So, my choice was a little bit obvious. These eight(8) areas, possessed by, or previously by, the Indian tribes, are part of the definition of Arizona.--MichaelMcAnnis,YumaAZ, (in the Yuma Desert/Colorado Desert(W. I just added Saguaro National Monument to the List of areas in the National Park System of the United States. --MMcAnnisMmcannis 01:32, 4 March 2006 (UTC)--I have to change it back.
