Too many subcategories edit
There are currently several hundred subcategories here, most of which are pretty specific (like Category:Lassie episode redirects to lists) and can be, or already are, placed in one of the suitable subcategories (like Category:Episode redirects to lists). The reason they're still here is that {{Redirect category}} automatically places them. Is there any reason not to change that behaviour? Isn't it better if Category:Lassie episode redirects to lists only appears in Category:Episode redirects to lists and not in the top-level Category:All redirect categories? To editors Uanfala and Redrose64: This could be a little ticklish – As of May there are roughly 7,400,000 redirects, and I'm not sure if the redirects in that count are "all" redirects or just mainspace redirects. Either way, that's a lot of redirects, and this category tries to keep track of them. Also note that it's unhidden parent is Category:Wikipedia categories, the parent of which is Category:Contents, a "grandparent" category that is used in some way by the Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team, probably for picking and choosing both articles and printworthy redirects to be indexed. So it appears that there may be bot issues if this tree is altered, and one would want to advertise such a proposed alteration far and wide, I would think. What's in your palette? - Thanks! So this turns out to be a bit more complicated than I thought. I don't think I have anywhere near enough knowledge of wikipedia to be able to properly carry that through, and given that this category doesn't look like it sees a lot of direct use by editors, I don't think it will be worth the trouble.
