Should the name not be Afro-American people? --89.249.2.53 (talk) 07:58, 15 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

No. Percxyz (Call me Percy, it's easier) 10:02, 15 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
Why? I dont see the difference. --89.249.2.53 (talk) 10:02, 17 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
If there's no difference, why change it? Percxyz (Call me Percy, it's easier) 22:02, 12 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Too Broad edit

This category should be deleted as soon as possible - it is too broad. There is no category for the Caucasian or Hispanic equivalent of this so why does this category exist? 2604:2000:7FC0:1:E8D7:5FA9:D5A4:AD1 (talk) 06:33, 7 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

As it says on the category page, "This category lists, in its subcategories, citizens of the United States of black African ancestry, or who otherwise self-identify as being African American." (emphasis added) It is the parent category, and as such is not over-broad. —GrammarFascist contribstalk 12:44, 22 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Is there a guideline for which category should be used for which people's biography articles? It seems like putting a page in both categories would be redundant, but I'm not sure which one category is correct for specific articles. Thoughts? (I'm putting this question on the other category's talk page too.) —GrammarFascist contribstalk 12:44, 22 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
