Dr. Anjali Nimbalkar is a senior leader and spokesperson of the Indian National Congress.[1] She represents Khanapur of Belgaum district at the Karnataka Legislative Assembly since 2018.[2][3]She has been announced as the Indian National Congress candidate for the Uttara Kannada Lok Sabha constituency in the 2024 Indian general election.

She holds MBBS degree with masters in Gynaecology and Laparoscopy. She is one of the ten doctors elected to make it to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly.[4]
Personal life edit
Anjali Nimbalkar was born on 22 August 1976 into a Hindu Maratha family in Khanapur, Belagavi district of Karnataka. She is married to Hemant Nimbalkar (IPS).[5][6]
Political career edit
In 2018, Anjali Nimbalkar contested elections from Khanapur, Karnataka Assembly constituency and won against Vithal Halagekar (BJP).[7][8]
In 2020, she contested for Director's Election of The Belgaum District Central Co-operative Bank but lost to Arvind Chandrakant Patil of Bharatiya Janata Party.
In 2023, she was defeated by Vithal Halagekar of Bharatiya Janata Party, Anjali got a total of 37,205 votes while BJP candidate Vithal Halagekar won with 91,834 votes.
She protested salary hike under The Karnataka Ministers Salaries and Allowances (Amendment) Bill, 2022 by the Government of Karnataka and requested government to spend same money to give better facilities to the citizens.[9][10] She organized padyatra to highlight issues of poor and neglected communities from her constituency.[11]
