Possible future articles

The Feldmann case is definitely on my list, but it requires a bit of research as it ties in with the incident on Vestfoldbanen and the broader issue of legal culpability for crimes against the Jewish population of Norway during the war. (Nothing is ever as simple as it seems). I have other problems with Hoaas - although I think he's a despicable character, he was prosecuted for exercising free (though reprehensible) speech. An NPOV article can't address what he said without also dealing with the issue of whether he had a legal right to say it. Please review the history of edits before applying "discretionary action." ChrisO made a number of unilateral edits based on his views; I reverted, asking for further discussion; he reverted back to his version and then went running to you to impose the restriction. Given that ChrisO insists on gutting the article to a meaningless version, I am inclined to put it up for deletion, anyway. This is a contentious topic, and the only way to avoid the appearance of taking sides is to investigate a matter before taking admin action. --Leifern (talk) 22:54, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

I'm going to have to admit, I'm unable to grasp the concept of being belligierent to a complete stranger who is trying to keep involved parties abiding by arbitration remedies, especially those that may well result in blocks.

The 1RR restriction is for your own good: Without it, the Israel-Palestine related articles will likely have edit-war flareups and with it, numerous long-duration blocks and possibly longer article bans.

So, I feel a few notes are in order:

1. I don't know ChrisO from Adam. Really, to my knowledge he and I have never had a single interaction before now, on-wiki or off-wiki. I am not one of his "buddies on irc" and resent the implication. I am in no way interested in your view of the veracity of this statement, also, so feel free to keep your view to yourself in this regard.
2. The enforcement applies to all editors of the article, including ChrisO. How that's taking his side is beyond me.
3. The entire point of the enforcement is that it's a contentious topic. That's why it gets enforcement in the first place: If you don't grasp how the article is related to the Palestine-Israel arbcom case, please ask a different uninvolved admin for an explanation.
4. If you'd like the action reviewed, take it to one of the admin noticeboards, where I'm sure you'll get more attention on the topic than I'm both willing and able to offer.
5. Happily, I can say I did in fact review the edits before applying the enforcement. Oddly enough, I'm not in the habit of going to random articles and applying random arbcom enforcement rules to pages. Go figure.
6. I noticed that the most questionable edit is Chris's. Don't you think the 1RR restriction, therefore, actually hinders him more than it hinders you?
7. Before ever, ever reverting again, read Help:Reverting. I don't mean for "how to revert", but for reviewing the cases where reversion is appropriate. Notice the "DO NOT" section, and where it says "Do not simply revert changes that are made as part of a dispute. Be respectful to other editors, their contributions and their points of view." His edit was not vandalism, it was a dispute between you two on article content. Let me rephrase this: "If you revert a non-vandalism edit (as determined by the blocking admin) on this article, you will be blocked for a minimum of 24 hours."

Now, as far as your deletion suggestion goes, if you can point to someplace in our various deletion guidelines where the deletion is anything other than bad-faith, feel free to nominate the article on articles for deletion, but recall that WP:IDONTLIKEIT is not a good-faith nomination reason.

This reply is posted to both my talkpage and yours, along with your original edit. If you think it incivil, please suggest resolution, but otherwise, I'll thank you to kindly go about productive editing instead.

Thanks for the message. Actually, I didn't edit any of the last references (If it looks as if I did, it must have happened inadvertendly). I only just added more refs to reflect the dearth of firm scholarly knowledge a Jewish-Byzantine relations (and in general about Byzantium) which has as a result a quite remarkable variety of opinions. I also deleted the precise quotations from Golden's and Graetz' books to save space and because I thought they were only inserted in response to my query about the sources. Care to explain how switching the order of two paragraphs is "well-poisoning?" [1]

The introductory section of an article on charges of human rights violation is typically context-setting. In this case, the most important piece of context is that Israel is a liberal democracy in which minorities are protected, just like, say Norway, or Sweden. To state that human rights are a matter of ongoing discussion is a) self-evident, and b) begs the question and therefore constitutes well-poisoning. Correcting bias is not hostile. --Leifern (talk) 19:07, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

You think that's the most important piece of context. Others might think the ongoing occupation is the most important piece of context. Still others might think the most important piece of context is that Israel defines itself by religious identity. Still others might think something different.

It's interesting that you mention Norway or Sweden - I checked Human rights in Europe, and it begins, "The current human rights situation in Europe..." not "European states are multiparty parliamentary democracies..." In fact, I checked the first ten articles "Human rights in...x" and, of those that have any introduction at all, they all start along the lines of "The human rights situation in X is poor..." or "Human rights in Y have been analyzed by Z..." Why would Israel get special treatment?

You've switched from "well-poisoning" to "begging the question," which are two very different concepts. Which is it, and specifically, how would stating that NGO's and governments have looked into human rights in Israel in any way prejudge or bias? It seems to me that your problem is not with well-poisoning, but with failing to well-poison in the manner you favour (ie, by stating as prominently as possible that Israel is a democracy.) <eleland/talkedits> 19:21, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

So interesting that you only quoted the first few words about Europe, because it continues "is believed to be good." Begging the question is a rhetorical fallacy that may (or may not) serve to poison the well. Well-poisoning means to predispose the reader to a particular, unfavorable conclusion about what's coming next; which is precisely what begging the question is as well. "Occupation" does not apply to the situation in Israel, unless you believe that Gaza and the West Bank are part of Israel, which would certainly be to beg the question. Why should Israel get special treatment? Here's a sample of introductory sentences about countries with a government system similar to, or inferior to, Israel's:

• The United Kingdom has a long and established tradition of avowed respect for its subjects' human rights.
• Human rights in Finland are protected by extensive domestic safeguards, in addition to the country's active membership in most international human rights treaties.
• Spain is a democracy with a constitutional monarch.
• Human rights are comprehensively guaranteed in Switzerland, one of Europe's oldest democracies

Holy cow, Leifern, this is way out of line. You challenged the wording of a sentence which was cited to a source which used the same wording. For your benefit, I added another footnote to the same reference, at exactly the spot where you had challenged it. And then I added, to the reference, the direct quote of the reference using the same wording. Just for the record, I deleted a sentence that perpetrated at least one rhetorical fallacy, namely that of an unsubstantiated generalization, or converse accident. Hello. I'm currently involved in a dispute about certain wording in the lead of this article with another editor, User:ChrisO. This user claims to be the originator of the phrase "reported to have been killed" with regards to al-Durrah, a phrase he now wants to change to 'was killed'. My own research on the editing history of this page leads me to think that it was actually you who first introduced this phrase into the lead, and that it subsequently remained in the article for more than two years. Leifern, your deletion of a large chunk of the nominator's opening statement on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Allegations of apartheid (fifth nomination)‎ strikes me as being both unjustified - since the linked AfDs are clearly highly relevant to this article - and a straightforward violation of the talk page guidelines. There are a few circumstances in which editing other people's comments is appropriate, but this would not be one of them. I don't think I've ever before come across a situation in which an AfD participant who opposes a nomination has tried to censor the nominator's opening statement. Please don't try to edit the opening statement again.

I have reviewed the section you removed and see nothing wrong with it? Why do you feel it is, "Poisoning the well?" It is links to previous related discussions and AFD's. Clarification needed on past Arbcom vote

As a member of the Arbitration Committee that in August and September of 2007 heard the the this case, you assented to the following finding of fact:

6) Seven editors (Gzuckier (talk · contribs), Humus sapiens (talk · contribs), IronDuke (talk · contribs), Jayjg (talk · contribs), JoshuaZ (talk · contribs), Leifern (talk · contribs), and Tickle me (talk · contribs)) voted to delete the allegations of Israeli apartheid article, largely on principle, after having earlier voted to keep the allegations of Brazilian apartheid article. Given the circumstances, the only reasonable explanation for this voting pattern is that the editors in question were attempting to prove a point regarding the allegations of Israeli apartheid article.

I took great exception to this assertion at the time, but decided not to vigorously defend myself, as it seemed clear to me that the finding would not get the needed majority to be established by the Arbcom; and that my scarce time was better spent on other issues, on the arbcom case and elsewhere on Wikipedia.

However, your vote for this finding has now been used as an argument to discount my vote on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Allegations of apartheid (fifth nomination).:

This case eventually collapsed due to unresolvable divisions among the arbitrators, but the fact that four committee members were willing to endorse the aforementioned statement suggests that it wasn't a completely arbitrary charge. It's probably also worth noting that nine arbitrators agreed that "Allegations of Israeli apartheid" was the locus of the dispute. Other editors have similarly raised this proposed finding of fact as a basis to question mine and others' vote on the AFD in question.

I am obviously not asking you to get involved in the AFD, but would like you to clear up the following:

If your vote in this Arbcom case can properly be construed as a legitimate argument for discounting my vote on any article that is related to Israel or apartheid, then I would like the chance to properly defend my votes on the articles in question and see if I can change your mind.

Conversely, if your vote fails to give the closing admin the grounds to discount my vote, then I would appreciate this clarification.

I think the finding was well-founded, after all no one has written a book about Brazilian apartheid, nor is it the subject of an international campaign. However, it was far in the past, not supported by the majority of the arbitrators who voted on it and, thus not appropriate to bring up as evidence of bad faith regarding your current posture in the deletion debate. Generally speaking, arbitration proposals that fail to pass have no weight whatsoever. If people were to start interpreting everything that's ever been voted on as holy writ, we'd be in trouble.

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Allegations of apartheid (fifth nomination) and canvassing

Hi Leifern - I appreciate the note you left on my talk page. I think we'll have to agree to disagree over my reasoning in closing the AFD (and you appear to be willing to do so), but I wanted to say a few more words on the issue of canvassing specifically. I did examine the canvassing allegations to see whether they showed any danger of biasing the AFD. On two of the four criteria, the tone of the message and its transparency, I think we can agree there is no issue - the message itself was quite neutral, and it was done very openly (I was aware of it, despite having had no involvement whatever in the issue, just because I had several of the affected User talk pages on my watchlist). You seem to be suggesting that his messages may have been to a biased audience, but I don't see how that is so. I took a quick sampling of the editors involved in the previous AFD discussions, an equal number of supporters and opposers of deletion, and checked them to see if they'd been reached by ChrisO's messages. In all cases, they had. Moreover, I looked at the voting patterns of the "canvassed" editors in the present AFD, and found that, if anything, they !voted slightly disproportionately on the Keep side. I simply do not see any evidence that ChrisO biased the result of the AFD through his behaviour. As I said in my closure, it's possible that his actions violated the "Scale" provisions of WP:CANVASS, but, even if they did, that's an issue of general Wikiquette, and not one of integrity of the AFD. Again, I do thank you for your civil comments, and hope that this addresses at least the canvassing portion of your concerns. Sarcasticidealist (talk) 22:15, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

The Reboot of Wikiproject New Jersey has certainly stirred up some new activity at the project. Discussion on several improvements and new initiatives have been going on at the talk page. There has been an involved discussion regarding our 92 unassessed articles, especially those on municipalities. The current goal is to review and assess all 566 New Jersey muncipality articles by September 30. A suggestion has been made to intiate Wikipedia Takes New Jersey to begin clearing the large backlog of articles needing photos. Let's all grab our cameras and head out into the vast wilds of the Garden State. Town Halls, High Schools, Historic Places - every article deserves a picture. New Jersey Collaboration news	New WPNJ members
WPNJ member Mm40 has volunteered to coordinate a new WPNJ Collaboration project. It's been a while since we used the NJCOTW and new volunteers are needed. Join the discussion to volunteer. Battle of Trenton was recently proposed as a Featured Article candidate. It was not promoted, but has now been nominated for A-Class review through the Military History WikiProject. Take a look at their A-Class FAQ. As we need to set up our own process for reviewing A-Class articles, it may be worth watching the process. Reboot progress report	Help Wanted
The redesign has been well received. There are still some things left to do. This newsletter was one big check mark off the list. Hopefully this can be continued on a regular basis. There are literally thousands of articles in Category:New Jersey that have not been tagged as part of the project, and stub sorting hasn't been run in 10 months. We will need to identify some friendly bot operators to help with these projects. An outreach department (which includes the newsletter) needs to be formalized. Creating an invitation template for easy placement on userpages will also be part of that effort. There are lots of best practices described at the WikiProject Council with ideas of how to make our project more responsive, welcoming, active, and effective. Task forces? Peer review? Hei! Thanks for fixing (rather, for removing) place of death. You should fix it in bokmål, as well! I've added photo of V.K. to English Paltiel article; you may remove it if you think it inappropriate. As many photos as there are of J.P., it must be possible to get one or two (young from book, old from Aftenposten??) for the articles! Might his widow release them? (I actually have the announcement of his appearance from kyrkjelydsbladet, with the youthful photo.)

A curiosity. I saw Paltiel 2-3 years ago. The man exuded purpose and strength and gave a fascinating and living lecture, in spite of apparently having given the same talk hundreds(?) of times before! I saw the tattoo on his forearm and I bought the book. I recall that the number on his forearm either started or ended with 99 or 66. The number in the book doesn't. A mini-mystery. The Wikipedia 0.7 project team has chosen the New Jersey related articles that will be included in the next downloadable version of Wikipedia. You can review the list of selected WPNJ articles, check the articles tagged for cleanup, or nominate additional articles for inclusion. Selection is an automated process based on article assessments. To help avoid vandalism and POV concerns, specific versions of articles can be tagged for inclusion in the downloadable release. List of Norwegian photographers

It seems to me that you are violating your own principles in nominating this article for deletion. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I find no basis in WP:N or in the AFD policy for "As per the previous AFD, this dead-end list consisting mostly of redlinks would be better as a self-maintaining category." There are many lists on Wikipedia, and there is no time limit for when it needs to be populated. If you think there should be a policy or guideline against lists with too many redlinks, feel free to propose it. Otherwise, these nominations take up time that could have been better spent writing and editing articles, say, about Norwegian photographers. I also want to point out that the first AFD failed, and if anything the basis for keeping it improved since then. --Leifern (talk) 14:27, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

  • I don't have a notability standard: instead I use those proposed in WP:N. In your AFD, you made some rather vague comments about "dead end" and "red links," none of which illustrate any element of the WP:N. The general guideline states that "If a topic has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, it is presumed to satisfy the inclusion criteria for a stand-alone article." The principle you have violated, is that you expect those who voice their views on AFD to specifically state the basis for their view - your AFD had absolutely no substance, and was essentially a repeat of an earlier failed AFD. --Leifern (talk) 21:02, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

Regarding Niels Christian Ditleff, are you sure he died in Oslo? As far as I remember he crashed his car somewhere in Sweden and I thought he died at the crash site? Ulflarsen (talk) 04:50, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

Well, in Norsk Biografisk Leksikon it says that his place of death was Oslo. But you may be right - I've seen confusion several times about where someone actually died vs. where their bodies were brought afterwards. Kathryn Ellen Lilley

I removed the PROD - the bad Carolyn Keene page was caused by someone merging Kathryn Lilley, a minorly notable author who wrote a couple Nancy Drew Files books, with the existing Carolyn Keene article. Clearly they were confused and didn't actually understand they implications of their merge.

Proposed compromise aimed at consensus at WP:NJ

Hi, Leifern. As you may remember, way back in August I started a thread at WikiProject New Jersey to discuss the "Federal, state, and county representation" subsections in New Jersey municipality articles, as User:Nightscream and I had a substantial disagreement on that subject. Approximately two months later, we've hammered out a compromise that we mostly agree upon, and presently I am seeing if there is a consensus for this compromise. I'm leaving this message here not as canvassing, but because you participated in this discussion previously and perhaps would be interested in weighing in on the compromise. Education Task Force - The conversion of the former WikiProject Education is New Jersey has been completed. New Jersey education-related articles are now supported by the Education task force. The project banner has been updated to fully support the task force with independent importance ratings. No More Comments - A proposal at the Village Pump has resulted in the deprecation of comments subpages. These were usually found at Talk:Article title/Comments and contained little more than assessment notes. These pages were not widely watched, and are often a hidden location for vandalism and BLP violations. WPNJ has 104 articles that used these pages. A complete list of them, along with their contents, can be viewed at Wikipedia:WikiProject New Jersey/Deprecation of comments. It is up to the members of WPNJ to decide what to do with this information.	The following articles may be in need of attention: Featured Article candidates: none currently Good Article nominees: U.S. Route 30 in New Jersey Hudson County Courthouse
Municipality template compromise; School Districts (almost) complete	New WPNJ members
Legislative templates in municipal articles - A rather lengthy discussion ran from the end of August until the end of October regarding the use of our legislative district templates in articles about local municipalities. Many WPNJ members commented on the concept, and a proposed compromise seems to have been reached. The templates will require some adjustments to fit the new wording, but should result in more directly relevant sections about County, State, and Federal representation in our articles on cities, towns, villages, townships, and boroughs. Hopefully, more dicussions like this can result is some kind of Manual of Style to bring greater standardization to all of these articles. School District articles now comprehensive - WPNJ Founder Alansohn recently reported that almost all of New Jersey's school districts now have articles - "I have created the article for the last missing (non-vocational) school district in the state." Congrats to Alansohn, who I am sure would love more members at the Education task force to help maintain these articles! New Statistics Table There has been an upgrade to the WP 1.0 bot that updates our project's summary table. The new table lists all page classes including Portal-class, Redirect-class, and Disambig-class. We now have a better picture of the scope of the WikiProject and the pages that we cover. New York Times to charge for access The New York Times is an invaluable resource for properly referencing articles, but especially due to its extensive archives and coverage of New Jersey issues. The announcement that metered content will be started in 2011 has the potential to make article sourcing much more difficult. It also causes a need to update linked sources in articles before all of the NYT links go dead. Any link can be archived on demand by using WebCite. We can help avoid dead links by archiving any article sources from the NYT. BLP Issue Boils Over There are discussions all over the 'pedia about deleting close to 50,000 unreferenced Biographies of Living People. We won't get into a rehash here, but let's just look at what we can do. There is a new item on the project task list for sourcing BLPs. All articles that are in both Category:People from New Jersey and Category:All unreferenced BLPs are now available on this work list. These articles need to be sourced, PRODded, or sent to AfD. An ounce of prevention Unreferenced BLPs are one of the catgories regularly listed in the WPNJ Cleanup listing. New articles are also a prime location to find articles that do not yet have references. You can keep an eye on the New Articles list to help prevent the workload from getting any larger. With elections happening as often as they do in this state, January is always a good time to review these templates and update them with new information. Conducting research on WikiProjects

We are professors at Carnegie Mellon University conducting research on how online groups operate, with a strong history of research on Wikipedia.

We would like to discuss collaborating with you with the goals of both improving integration of new members into your WikiProject as well as advancing the understanding of the science behind online groups.

Our recent research has shown that joining a WikiProject boosts editors' contributions to the project substantially, and that specific kinds of interactions between existing project members and newcomers encourage newcomers to contribute more and longer. We are now working on translating these findings into interventions that will increase the vitality of WikiProjects, helping them attract, motivate, and retain members who are knowledgeable and able to contribute to the project.

Photography in Denmark

Hello Leifern. I have read with interest your background info and have looked at a few articles you have helped to write about Norway. In particular, I liked Architecture of Norway, espeicially as I have spent quite a lot of time and effort myself on Architecture of Denmark.

The main reason I am writing today is that you also appear to have an interest in photography. Hi! Di you think a Category:Jewish military personnel of World War II could be an ok category? Perhaps it, for obvious reasons, could be interesting to categorize Jews who fought in this particular conflict (not other conflicts, though). Geschichte (talk) 15:42, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

Yes, though it might make sense to subcategorize it further by the country whose flag they served under. In Norway, for example, Norwegian Jews served far out of proportion to their share of the population. Leifern (talk) 17:34, 23 May 2010 (UTC)

The Catholic Church and the Protestant bishops letter (The Holocaust in Norway)

Hello, Leifern. I see you did a ton of work on The Holocaust in Norway article. I removed a comment saying the Catholics did not sign the letter the Protestant bishops wrote to Quisling on 10 November 1942 protesting the treatment of the Jews. The link in the reference is apparently to a copy of the letter itself, which I could not open. The comment about the Catholics not signing is surely true, but it is, I think, original research because it comments on something "missing" from the original document. On that basis alone it should be removed. If it stays (and it should not) then we have to list all the other non-Protestant churches that did not sign: Catholics, Jews, Buddhists, Bahai, Humanists, Zoroastrians, Sikhs, Hindus, etc. Also, the Catholic presence in Norway in 1942 was about 3,000 members, so I'm not sure if it could even be considered part of the "religious establishment". Jewish deportees from Norway during World War II

Please read WP:IINFO before you restore the list that comprises 99% of the article, again. Yes, it was an atrocity that over 700 people were sent to their deaths. However, the English Wikipedia is not the place to list the name, birth date, hometown, profession, day they were arrested, day they were deported, day they died, age, boat they were deported on, camp they were interned at, and their ID tattoo number for every (or any) Jew who was deported from Norway and died in the concentration camps. The IP's version at least only names the individuals who survived and those who have articles on the English Wikipedia.—Ryulong (竜龙) 11:07, 28 November 2011 (UTC)

There is no basis in WP:INFO for deleting these names. It is not an indiscriminate collection of information more than say a list of mountaintops over xxxx meters or rivers in a country. I consider attempts at deleting these lists an active effort of Holocaust revisionism. You should be ashamed of yourself. Leifern (talk) 11:18, 28 November 2011 (UTC)

It is not Holocaust revisonism to remove an unencyclopedic list of the 768 men and women removed from Norway and everything possible recorded about them. This is not information that belongs on Wikipedia. WP:IINFO covers this exactly. Wikipedia does not need to be host to this information, merely because it is out there. It covers it exactly only if you believe this list is indiscriminate. I did not compile a random list of names and pile it in. The IP has made a number of additional edits that make it clear that his/her agenda is to put the entire event in doubt. This is a common tactic among revisionists, and you can see the same type of effort in The Holocaust in Norway. I can see he has a willing accomplice in you, though. I know where this is going: the two of you are going to tag-team until I run out of reverts and thereby bully me out of the matter. And you'll succeed, to the detriment of Wikipedia. Congratulations. What sort of farkakt logic is going through your head? It is indiscriminate to list every Jewish Norwegian man, woman, and child who got sent to the concentration camps. I am well aware that my distant relatives were killed by the millions. The fact still stands that Wikipedia does not need to provide a list of all of them that came from a single nation, and you should not be making the analogy that if these people should not be listed, that no person who was killed by another should be mentioned by name on Wikipedia. You cite guidelines that have tenuous - to put it kindly - relevance to this issue, and I am merely trying to help you out by asking what distinction you are trying to make. As far as I can tell, your main objection is that "it takes too much space." People do not have to be notable to be named in an article, and "indiscriminate" clearly means that the list is random, without any clear distinction. Neither do the guidelines for lists apply in this case. Then you are making a distinction between genocide and homocide, ignoring that the former is a subset of the latter. Can I make a suggestion? Stop responding to each other for the time being. Why not create a rule to this unnecessary game. The next person who responds to the other in this indented section, automatically loses the arguments being made. Meaning, they will have gotten the last word in, but they have lost the argument. Leifern, whilst the list is not indiscriminate, it isn't really appropriate for an encyclopaedia. HOWEVER, having said that, the complete referenced list would be suitable for inclusion at Wikisource. If you were to transplant that list to Wikisource, you could then include an external link to the link from the article here on Wikipedia, and I don't think there would be an editor here who would object to that. The list itself should probably only really include notable people. Think about that option, because the way consensus is at the moment, it is not in your favour. And if you continue to accuse people of being Holocaust revisionists, you may find yourself blocked for making personal attacks. You obviously have information that you wish to include; work with other editors to find the most appropriate place for it; Wikisource is the way to go. Thanks for the suggestion. I will look into it. I believing that Ryulong is acting in good faith, though clearly he has a strange interpretation of notability and "indiscriminate" guidelines. There does seem to be a prevailing trend to not include lists of victims in other articles I've looked at (and Ryulong would have been a lot more persuasive if he/she had made that point). The IP is actually making an effort to subvert the issue, and it's hard to interpret his/her actions as anything but revisionism. Leifern (talk) 12:01, 28 November 2011 (UTC)

I think all of you are acting in good faith. The more relevant information is WP:LISTS and also things like WP:N. The information isn't indiscriminate in that the contents are very well defined, and that is done by way of "Jewish people were deported from Norway during WWII"; and that definition is obviously a notable topic, evidenced by the references in the article itself. However, as you mentioned, long lists are often not included for varying reasons. To give you an example of something I have been toying with writing for sometime; Russian Anzacs - that being Russian born people who fought for Australia during World War I. The topic is notable, and a scholar has done some excellent research on the subject, and has information on almost every Russian Anzac who is known. But an article on the subject on WP wouldn't include a list of all 1,000 Russian Anzacs, but it would include notable subjects within that theme. A complete list of course could be suitable for Wikisource because the information has been published. Definitely go to Wikisource, place your referenced list there, come back and place a link within the article WP:ELs, and if anyone has a problem with that, you let me know, and I will argue the inclusion on your behalf and/or with you. Aside from the fact that I apparently cannot spell "homicide" and that I was using what is feasibly the wrong criteria, these edits are not vandalism. Vandalism is the bad faith removal of material. In September 2006, you added this information to the article on Telegraphy:

List of deportees

It's not my fault that the list was deleted on another website because it doesn't belong there. It was removed from Wikipedia because it doesn't belong here either. Unless you are royalty, "we" decided no such thing. You suggested, after pressure from a blatant Holocaust revisionist, that the list would be appropriate at the commons, and I agreed as a gesture of good faith toward you. If you didn't think it belonged there, either, you clearly acted in bad faith and are no admitting it. There is absolutely no basis in policy or guidelines to exclude such a list. I didn't move it to the Commons. I moved it to Wikisource where it was deleted earlier this year due to their own inclusion policies which I was not aware of when I made the move to get it off of the English Wikipedia. And there is a basis in the policies and guidelines that say to exclude the list and that is WP:IINFO. It's not relevant for an encyclopedia to include a list of the names, occupations, dates of birth, port of entry, dates of death, etc. of every Jewish person deported in Norway. It may be important for you because you worked so hard on compiling the list, but it is not something Wikipedia should cover within the article about the deportation itself. Again, it's been restored on the English Wikipedia at List of Jewish deportees from Norway during World War II. So get off of my back, stop complaining about being slighted concerning the inclusion policies of this project and its sisters, and stop accusing that one IP of being a "Holocaust revisionist" for not thinking the list was proper content for Wikipedia.—Ryulong (琉竜) 10:32, 15 November 2012 (UTC)

You might want to review the edits the IP tried to make. There is no basis in policy or guidelines for not including such a list, and I will thank you not to speculate on my motivations.
