He participated in the 2019 World Aquatics Championships held in Gwangju, South Korea, winning three medals – two gold and one bronze. He won gold as part of the USA team in the men's 4 × 100 meter freestyle relay. He was also part of the team in the mixed 4x100-meter freestyle relay, won in a world record time of 3 minutes, 19.40 seconds.
