Commemorative euro coin images, which template?

Hello,

in the course of running Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser/Tasks#New task, I have encountered a number of commemorative euro coins images, which are tagged at the moment as {{Non-free currency}}. Should they be tagged instead as {{Non-free currency-EU coin national}}? I would greatly appreciate everybody's input at Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser/Tasks#New task. Silver Maple Leaf wikipage

The SML wikipage needs some editing to address the omission of the 1989 RCM SML proof 1 oz coin of which has the lowest mintage of SMLs at less than 30,000. They were issued individually in maple presentation cases laser inscribed with the 10th year anniversary of the gold maple leaf (1979 - 1989). Also was issued in a 3 coin set with 1/10th oz gold and platinum maple leaf proof coins in a similar maple display case; mintage 10,000. Teylers Museum

Hi, the Teylers Museum is currently running a writing challenge, so if anyone is interested they can contribute to the project. The reason I am posting here is because I just wrote two short articles on Martin Holtzhey and his son, and I realized they should be included in this project. While I am here though, I thought it would be useful to let you know that there has been a large contribution of high quality images from their (massive) coin collection. If you know of specific coins from their collection that you would like to have added to Commons, you can make a request up to the end of the challenge (around May). I suppose they are in general open to requests at any time, but there is someone there monitoring the challenge page for people who don't want to contact them by phone or mail. Naming conventions on capitalization

This project badly needs to establish a naming convention (based on real-world, general usage and grammar, not peculiar practices of numismatics publications), and stick to it. No one cares that a lot of coin guides like to capitalize all coin-related terms; such over-capitalization is a common practice in all guidebooks, from bird identification to car parts, as it helps to make important terms stand out from dry prose for people who are scanning text for quick results. It is not an encyclopedic practice, and MOS specifically deprecates it at MOS:CAPS. WP:AT doesn't permit miscapitalization either; it very clearly calls for sentence case, not title case.

Our current numismatics articles names are wildly inconsistent, and show a mish-mash of some editors following MOS and AT, and others just doing what they like, regardless of WP rules or grammar rules (Chicago Manual of Style, Hart's Rules, etc.), influenced by on the strong tendency of specialists and collectors to capitalize, in specialist "insider" writing, to inappropriately capitalize any Term They Think Is Important or Special. As a basic ground rule, denominations and coin names are not capitalized, except where a proper name occurs, in encyclopedic (or journalistic, academic, or any other non-collector) publications. This is English, not German; we do not capitalize random nouns simply for being nouns. It's "dollar", "Eisenhower dollar", "wheat penny", "Manx crown", "Krugerrand", "Liberty dollar" (because it features the personification Liberty, which is a proper name like Justice with her scales, sword and blindfold). The official name of a series of coins should be capitalized without capitalizing anything else, e.g. "Statehood quarters", "the Statehood series", "Cat crowns", "the Cat crown issues", etc. Do not, per MOS:CAPS, capitalize "the" in front of anything, like "The United States Mint", except at the beginning of a sentence. Do not confuse the name of a coin with the official name (title) of a government coin production program. Articles like 50 State Quarters must move to either 50 State quarters (capitalize the series but not the denomination) or 50 State Quarters Program (capitalize the full title of the program). "50 State Quarters" is either a miscapitalization of the coin denomination, or a misquotation of the title of the program, either way you want to look at it. And actually it should by "Fifty" not "50", unless the official title of the program consistently always uses numerals and not the word.

Numismatics terms are not capitalized except where they contain a proper name. It's "proof" not "Proof", "cupronickel", not "Cupronickel" (but it is "CuNi", because the periodic table symbols for elements are always first-letter-capitalized). An exception is formal condition grades, e.g. "Very Fine", which are universally capitalized across all collectibles fields (to ensure that they are interpreted as such, and not as general opinion like "really great" or "looks good to me").

And so on. We need to aim for consistency (and the principle of least astonishment – don't subject the broadest and most general readership in human history to distracting and confusing insider geekery), instead of our current situation of seemingly random "I capitalize however the hell I feel like it today" chaos.

PS: I'm aware that some would want to capitalize all commemorative issues, like the Canadian Maple Leaf, and whatnot. If this is consistently followed in general writing outside of numismatics publications, then that should be fine here, too. The usage has to be defined and limited somehow so people don't go around capitalizing things like "Wheat Penny" and "Yen".

Editors have started to nominate images for deletion based on that RfC. I personally don't agree with deleting those images but I think members of this project should be aware of this. Spanish peseta article

I find many things wrong with this page:

• I find it shallow and inadequate;
• it has many bold assertions, but few references;
• its note does not strike me as a neutral point of view: it sounds very pro-Catalan, or at least anti-Castilian
