Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Myanmar/Township templates

I've edited a few of these templates myself, such as {{Mindon Township}} which just popped up on my watchlist. Several other Myanmar township templates appear regularly as Templates with disambiguation links. Many of these navboxes are 90% red, it seems unlikely that the missing articles will appear, and it's not obvious that the red settlements are notable. Do they serve any purpose or should they go to TfD? Pinging Þjarkur whose edit prompted this message and EmanWilm who worked on WP:Templates with red links/Townships in Burma a while ago. I do think these templates should be deleted, the villages in {{Mindon Township}} aren't even mentioned on the article Mindon Township but are instead shown in a collapsed template. Most Indian township articles just have a large list of villages that are kept unlinked, which would probably work better here. I actually have no idea how these lists of South Asian villages are compiled, I usually find them to be impossible to verify. – Thjarkur (talk) 12:57, 7 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. I occasionally see similar problems in India and elsewhere, but Karnataka district templates are the only ones I've noticed with significant numbers of mislinks (e.g. {{Settlements in Bagalkot district}} linked to 72 irrelevant articles). Those are on my to-do list. Certes (talk) 14:43, 7 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
