eu interwiki edit

Please, can somebody (an administrator) add the interwikis to this kind of templates (selected anniversaries templates) if it is possible? Only the month of january yet. I would do it myself but it's impossible. The interwiki of this day is eu:Txantiloi:Urtarrila 3 and the next days are similar; only changes the number (eu:Txantiloi:Urtarrila 4, eu:Txantiloi:Urtarrila 5... ...eu:Txantiloi:Urtarrila 31). It seems that bots do not run with administrator rights, so a bot cannot do that task. Thanks in advance. If there are any trouble, my talk page is always open for questions.   Declined (sorry). Referred to Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard#Mass editprotected interwiking required for discussion. --  Netsnipe  ►  13:24, 10 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
I see that nobody wants to do it but I have to try it again. Netsnipe decline my request to discusse, and I can undertand it because are many changes, but there is no discussion about it, or wasn't (archived here). Thanks in advance. If there are any trouble, my talk page is always open for questions. Berria · (talk) 16:29, 24 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Instead of doing just eu: now and having the same problem when another language needs interwikis, I've created Wikipedia:Selected anniversaries/Interwiki links (which needs protecting before it's transcluded); if this is transcluded on all the dates then only one page will need to be edited for interwikis in future. (I've set it up for the eu: interwikis requested.) Of course, it'll need an admin with AWB or something like that to do all the transclusions. --ais523 16:59, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
This Sel. Anniv. template has just been unprotected for now and will be re-protected before it goes back on MainPage. Please add the interwikis as you see fit. --PFHLai 14:53, 26 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

I don't know how the template works, so I added the interwiki. And the other selected anniversaries? their interwikis? Berria · (talk) 19:51, 30 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fixed this to use the template. An admin should definitely fix the template before this ends up back on the Main Page. --ais523 09:03, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

Closing div tag edit

There's currently an end div tag in this template that doesn't need to be there. User:Dudemanfellabra/Sandbox2 uses divs to display content, so unfortunately this date breaks that page. Since this template is currently protected, I'm not able to take out the div, but it comes directly after the content listings. Can an administrator take this out for me? Thanks! --Dudemanfellabra (talk) 17:43, 3 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Fixed. Actually, it should be an end li tag that fixes a formatting bug on Firefox when is being used in that fashion. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 17:55, 3 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Poorly phrased incorrect/misleading text on January 3rd Pope/Luther event edit

I have no idea how to properly report this - hopefully this will do. The following text currently on the main page

1521 – Pope Leo X issued the papal bull Decet Romanum Pontificem, excommunicating Martin Luther from the Roman Catholic Church after Luther refused to retract 41 of his 95 theses.

makes it sound like Luther did retract 54 of his theses. But (the incorrect part) the Pope did not demand he retract 41 theses (he demanded Luther retract 41 errors in them and other writings) and (the misleading part) Luther retracted nothing. Maybe "after Luther refused to retract 41 alleged errors found in his 95 Theses and other writings". - 74.162.148.39 (talk) 05:31, 3 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Battle of Princeton edit

The Battle of Princeton directly follows the holding action at the Battle of the Assunpink Creek, consider merging the two entries to emphasis the January 3rd Princeton victory and removing the January 2nd entry. A possible entry:

Thanks, Zeete (talk) 17:06, 30 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

@Zeete: That would be a good idea, but at this time it's unfeasible because that's the only has item on January 2 from before the 20th century, so we can't really remove it. howcheng {chat} 08:47, 1 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • Added NY Times reference (from 1877) for January 2, 1860 date of Vulcan. Would that solve the problem? Thanks, Zeete (talk) 18:54, 1 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
    • Thanks, but at this point in time I'm inclined to leave it as is. This will be good for next year. howcheng {chat} 00:00, 2 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. Here's a new suggestion for next year merging the two and removing the January 2nd entry:

The Battle of Assunpink Creek, relatively minor, has received more OTD notice than the important Battle of Princeton. Zeete (talk) 18:18, 2 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

@Howcheng: For 2019 could you add bitcoin (10th anniversary)? Assuming the same articles from 2018, replace Manuel Noriega, which would be its sixth appearance and because there's already an American topic – Battle of Princeton. Џ 03:45, 30 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Џ: The 3 January date is only in the infobox and needs to be cited. Thanks. howcheng {chat} 08:02, 30 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Howcheng: It's in the article text now. Џ 11:18, 30 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

2020 notes edit

Howcheng please remove Manuel Noriega from this year. The article has serious POV issues, detailed here. I did not tag the article as the author appeared to understand the work needed, but has not yet done it-- the work needed is quite extensive. If I must tag the article POV for it not to run, I will do so, reluctantly. The attention this article needs simply fell off of my radar after its failed FAC followed by the peer review, but none of the issues have been corrected. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 14:44, 1 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
Actually, looking at the dates and the lack of work done, I went ahead and tagged it anyway. I probably should have done so long ago, but it simply fell through the cracks. And, based on the feedback on my talk page, I went ahead and removed it myself here. I gather that means something else will need to be filled in, to even out the space? Noting that the entire suite related to Noriega has issues for similar overreliance on simplistic journalistic accounts, see sample at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Leyla Express and Johnny Express incidents/archive1, so I don't suggest filling in something else from that area.
