James Heilman, MD, UBC Faculty of Medicine, Wiki. Med. Board of Directors. He is an active editor and administrator on the English Wikipedia involved primarily with Wikiproject Medicine. He is one of the top 500 most prolific editors of the English site by edit count^[1] and has contributed thousands of medical images over the previous 5 years. In 2009 he was involved with promoting and protecting Wikipedia's right to contain images in the public domain.^[2] In 2011 in collaboration with 18 other medical editors he published a peer reviewed article in the Journal of Medical Internet Research calling upon his peers to join in as editors.^[3]^[4]

Jake Orlowitz (Ocaasi), B.A. in Social Studies from Wesleyan university, Wiki Med. Board of Directors. Jake has been editing Wikipedia since 2007 with over 20,000 contributions to the site. In addition to writing about international politics and alternative medicine, his work focuses in two main areas: engaging new editors and effectively orienting them to the site, and facilitating outreach between Wikipedia and likeminded organizations. Jake has worked with hundreds of new editors through Wikipedia's online help chat, new article creation project, local editing events, and email response team. He has written editing help guides, designed interactive instructional tutorials, and given talks about the history, culture, policies, and practices of Wikipedia. A related focus of his is developing partnerships between Wikipedia and academic, scholarly research databases so that editors can access the best available resources for their work.
