To be clear, I don't want to have this template deleted, but I do want to discuss it's usage. current, I count around 450 transclusions of a template with (fortunately) only 8 links. per WP:BIDIRECTIONAL, this is not a good idea. of course, we aren't going to create a template with all ca. 1800 award recipients, which is why we have a category. I am proposing to remove this template from all articles except for those which are linked within the navbox. since this forum is for discussing templates, I thought this was as good as any place to have the discussion. for precedent see the discussion for Template:Lists of Russians.
