WW2 video

Which battle is portrayed in this video? 2601:646:8E01:7E0B:981B:559D:D5F2:2768 (talk) 02:44, 3 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I cannot say, but just to make things easier for WWII buffs: It's from The Pacific miniseries. The featured battles are mentioned in that article as well as in our List of The Pacific episodes. ---Sluzzelin talk 06:53, 3 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! This actually narrows it down quite a bit -- it can't be Iwo Jima or Okinawa because the terrain would be all wrong. I can't be sure, but based on the photos, it looks to me like the battle of Peleliu. (Then again, it might be Guadalcanal...) 2601:646:8E01:7E0B:F88D:DE34:7772:8E5B (talk) 07:40, 3 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
You're assuming the TV miniseries was geographically accurate. It may not have been. It might not even be a specific battle, but just a composite. StuRat (talk)

What is the most bs thing that you had to put up with from a teacher in school?

Not what we do here
The following discussion has been closed. Please do not modify it.

I'll start. When I was in middle school we had a horrible science teacher. She was incredibly unreasonable and gave detention for the tiniest things. A few weeks before the end of school she gave us a project where we had to design a small cardboard rover with limited materials. She gave each of us a partner to work with. This project was difficult enough due to another group constantly screwing us over (not in a mean way, it was mostly accidental) and us constantly dropping a mint wheel. When this happened we had to steal a mint from her desk if we wanted any hope of this thing moving. Now the really stupid part was on the day before grades closed. On that day she told us that this project was graded and count for 60% of our final grade. Than she told us how it is graded which is absolute bullshit. There is a contest at the end to see who's rover can move the farthest. The group in first place gets an A+ and the group in last gets a D-. BULLSHIT! So we got 15 minutes to finish our rovers before the contest. When it was our turn to use our rover part of our rover got undone while we were winding it. The teacher wanted to mark our distance as 0 (which would be an F instead of a D) but my partner convinced her to let us try again, because our rover technically never was released. We only moved 7cm and got last place. The group that went after us wound the rover the wrong way and there riven went backwards, but she was happy to let them try again. WTF? Anyway share similar story's that happened to you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.118.74.82 (talk) 10:00, 3 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
