Identify an old (1800s) song

edit

Hi, I'd really appreciate if somebody could ID this tune for me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86frfJKukMU

Thanks in advance 41.254.5.233 (talk) 18:07, 20 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. As you are probably aware the music accompanies the computer game Oregon Trail II. I have a suspicion that it was composed for the game (it sounds very generic) and isn't from the 1800s. I could be wrong and, if so, other editors will be along to give you the correct answer. MarnetteD|Talk 19:32, 20 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm aware of that, yeah. I do agree with you that it sounds somewhat generic, but most of the songs from the game are arrangements of compositions from the 1800s (Camptown Races, Buffalo Girls, Yellow Rose of Texas, Go Tell Aunt Rhody, to name a few), and my strong hunch would be that that's the case with this one as well. Thanks though, and hopefully somebody else can drop by who give me a definitive answer one way or the other. 41.254.5.233 (talk) 20:02, 20 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
