Star Trek question

edit

Just wondering, have they ever mentioned in any Star Trek book or movie - how far Vulcan is from Earth in light years? Sandman30s (talk) 12:46, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

18 light-years according to Vulcan (Star Trek planet). --Dr Dima (talk) 15:37, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Make it 16 light-years. Sorry for misprint ... --Dr Dima (talk) 15:40, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Interestingly, Trek canon identifies the star Vulcan orbits as 40 Eridani, exactly 16.45 light years from earth. Point your SETI dish accordingly. / edg 16:16, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I am mistaken. Apparently it is never explicitly confirmed in the show. However, the figure 16 light years is given in the Star Trek: Enterprise episode "Home". There is evidence both real-world and in the canon that 40 Eridani was considered by Gene Roddenberry among others to be the Vulcan system.
Memory Alpha has a Reference Desk that can explain what a foolish human I was to offer the above answer. / edg 17:13, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks guys. What a foolish human I am not to have looked at the Vulcan article! I would never have dreamed that they would have that information there in the first paragraph! Also, thanks for that link to "Home" - I am busy watching the Enterprise series and haven't reached that one yet. For some reason the show was cut here in South Africa around season 2. soulja boy dead?

edit

i heard that soulja boy died after falling from a balcony, is this true? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.29.38.3 (talk) 21:17, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's a rumor and the other one was the death of his mother (no rumor) and the truth was his grandmother died. Our article makes him still alive and my "soulja boy death rumor" search on google confirms this. : ) Julia Rossi (talk) 02:44, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I wish I could have pushed him off, though. When will rap revert back into something contemplative as Tupac did it? bibliomaniac15 Midway upon life's journey... 02:59, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sadly, there's only one Tupac. Julia Rossi (talk) 22:46, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Could it be that you're confusing Soulja Boy with Houston's failed suicide attempt? AecisBrievenbus 21:16, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Married... with children theme song

edit

The television show "Married... with children" starts with the song "Love and Marriage" by Frank Sinatra. The opening credits feature a few bars from the song, and end when the "with children" stamp appears on the screen and the "married" text molds over. I saw the opening credits the other day and saw that the audio ends abruptly after the stamp sound. however, I seem to remember that there were two chords after the stamp sound when I watched the show back in the 90s. Am I imagining these two chords, or have they been removed since then? Tuckerekcut (talk) 22:14, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It was likely edited for television, usually that happens for length reason so more advertising can be used (it happens often with re-airings of early Simpsons episodes too). Interestingly, the DVDs from season 3 on, no longer feature the Sinatra song AtaruMoroboshi (talk) 16:23, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
From what little of the show that I watched, I too remember those notes. Dismas|(talk) 18:39, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
