browser without any security feeatures

edit

OP curious after security warnings and bumps in firefox and chrome, OP want browser that ignore all security issue and just go to siteMahfuzur rahman shourov (talk) 11:39, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Just turn off all the safety features of whatever browser you want to use. You don't need a special browser. Dismas|(talk) 13:26, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Dismas:security option hardcoded, nonremovable, the ones required to disable. bbs-era browsers without security feature good, seek modern counterpartMahfuzur rahman shourov (talk) 13:39, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

There is a browsing concept of using a read-only boot device that will browse quickly with no security, but since there is no writable media, nothing can be permanently damaged. Just reboot and everything will be right back how you started, not get gradually slower the more often you use it. However, this means you can't download anything or change any settings. Also, these days finding a "read only" boot device isn't so easy. Generally that just means there are software switches that prevent writing, but those could possibly be hacked. Physical switches, like old 3.25 inch diskettes had, would be better. You could also use a CD-ROM drive, which would prevent writing on a boot CD. StuRat (talk) 20:05, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Tails (operating system) is good for this. It is is good enough for Edward Snowden (see the closing credits of CITIZENFOUR), it is good enough for me. --Guy Macon (talk) 23:24, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@StuRat and Guy Macon:replies opposite of question. OP ask one thing, get inverse suggestionMahfuzur rahman shourov (talk) 14:14, 1 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong. StuRat suggested a read-only boot device, possibly a CD-ROM drive. I simply named an operating system that is particulary good at doing that. --Guy Macon (talk) 18:34, 1 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Tails is a security focused O/S, and the OP was asking about an O/S with no security, so I see where they are coming from. I was proposing using a read-only O/S in conjunction with no security. StuRat (talk) 19:11, 1 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Guy Macon:OP see OP not get answer, instead get retort that "wrong answer is right", OP want security-free browser that ignore all security issue, just browse, download. modern day "mosaic" or netscape v1Mahfuzur rahman shourov (talk) 01:01, 2 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Right but Dismas already answered your question. Nil Einne (talk) 14:40, 5 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Windows 7 system failing to completely boot up

edit

Last night I switched off my PC without a glitch. I haven't installed any new hardware, or software. This morning it simply won't boot fully. It gets to the desktop, starts loading my background apps like ESET security and other programs, then stops. The cursor still moves and the loading icon spins but no further progress is made.

I can reboot into save mode just fine, desktop finishes loading.

What gives? Any diagnostic suggestions to resolve this. I've done a virus scan and an HD scan in safe mode with no results. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.195.27.47 (talk) 13:48, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

By "save mode", do you mean "safe mode" ? StuRat (talk) 19:58, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Clearly a typo, what else could I mean? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.195.27.47 (talk) 21:06, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Could have meant you restored the last save point (checkpoint) and that booted. StuRat (talk) 03:10, 1 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Global Candy Cup Halloween Game and Google search issues

edit

Ever since this feature appeared on the Google.co.uk homepage yesterday I have been experiencing problems with searching. Entering anything into the Google home page returns blank search results, and no matter how many times you ask it to search for something it flatly refuses to respond. I first noticed the problem yesterday but it wasn't quite so bad. Today however it's been almost constant. I thought this was just a problem with Chrome, but for me it's happening on other browsers as well whenever I attempt to perform a Google search. Reloading the page also does somethign odd, the search bar then appears at the top while the Google doodle thing appears underneath. Although the doodle is absent from Google.com and Google.co.nz I have noticed the same issue happens with that. Can anybody tell me what is going on, and more importantly, if there's a fix. Thanks, This is Paul (talk) 19:36, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Does searching through your browser's address bar work? I don't have an explanation for Google not working through their page, but this might be a useful workaround. I haven't used Google's homepage in years since browsers introduced this feature. Mingmingla (talk) 21:53, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah the address bar is working fine, and I can navigate to other search engines such as Bing. Bizarrely, I've also discovered it's possible to access an older version of Google search by deleting a couple of letters from the URL, which then does enable me to use it. Not sure if anyone else is having this issue. This is Paul (talk) 22:21, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
This isn't an answer, but I can confirm that you're not alone - I had this problem at work yesterday, but not on my home machine. Both Windows 7 with IE11, so it's not browser-specific. Tevildo (talk) 23:38, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
... and I had the same problem for a while using Firefox and Vista. It's OK today. Dbfirs 10:36, 1 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Still happening for me, but hopefully they'll sort it out. This is Paul (talk) 20:06, 1 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Well, it was still happening for me up until a couple of minutes ago, but after reading around the subject I've managed to get it to work again by turning off instant results. Hopefully this has fixed the issue, but I'll post again if it goes kaput again. This is Paul (talk) 21:39, 2 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
