Summary

The Mini MediaWiki Trainer & Train-the-Trainer 2016 was held on the 10th and 11th of December, 2016 at Hyderabad. It was a mini-version of the Train the Trainer Program and the MediaWiki Training held primarily for the benefit of Telugu wikipedians. As a part of the two-day session; participants were given brief workshops on introduction to editing Wikipedia, new tools in Wikipedia and various on-going projects in Telugu and English Wikipedias. The participating editors also posed queries on certain aspects in which they required training and clarifications. The meetup was held as a part of a monthly get-together of Wikipedians (contributors and users)- predominantly Telugu Wikipedians- to meet up, discuss ongoing projects, share experiences, reach out and advocate for Wikipedia and Wikimedia. Tito Dutta, Program Associate from Centre for Internet and Society was present in the workshop to share expertise on recent tools and developments on Wikipedia; including the Visual editor.

The Meetup was attended by 15 people from the twin states of AP & Telangana. It included Wikipedians from the Telugu, Bengali and English Wikipedia projects and also from Wikimedia Commons.
