https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LowTierGod#:~:text=LowTierGod%20From%20Wikipedia%2C%20the%20free%20encyclopedia%20Dale%20Emanuel,involvement%20in%20the%20Street%20Fighter%20fighting%20game%20community.

In 2014 Sparrow engaged in a notable feud with another member of the fighting game community named Viscant. The feud, which began after a handful of matches led to the pair trash-talking each other online, eventually culminated in a grudge match hosted by Wednesday Night Fights, with Sparrow ultimately losing to Viscant.[1][2][3]

After Sparrow claimed that no Super Smash Bros. player could defeat him in Street Fighter V, he played against Jason "ANTi" Bates. Bates defeated Sparrow in the series, which included a perfect round.[4]

In April 2020, Sparrow made homophobic and transphobic comments about gamer Christina "CeroBlast" Tran during a livestream. Sparrow later pointed out racist comments made by Tran. Capcom then banned both players from their fighting game tournament events.[5][6] After the incident, Vice Media and Polygon stated that Tran's racist comments received much less attention than Sparrow's transphobic comments.[7][8] Tran was subsequently un-banned by Capcom for "showing remorse" for her inappropriate behavior, while Sparrow's ban remains in place.[9]

LowTierGod is widely known for being a rage-quitter, and often blacklists opponents that beat him in games to prevent matching up with them in the future.[10] — Preceding unsigned comment added by Covenantcourt (talkcontribs) 04:20, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Covenantcourt: Hi there! Please read Wikipedia:No legal threats, and then continue posting your suggestions on Talk:LowTierGod in detail. For example, it would be helpful if you explained on the talk page whether you are claiming that these sources are incorrect or not reliable, or claiming that the Wikipedia article does not represent what the sources say, or do you just not like that Wikipedia is repeating what was reported? Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 04:57, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The 2018 Revenue of LabCorp is incorrect

edit

When you search it on Google, it will show 11.3 Trillion USD. Please update it.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LabCorp — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.41.37.60 (talk)

Are you by any chance referring to a photo or text shown to the right of a Google search? Google's Knowledge Graph uses a wide variety of sources. There may be a text paragraph ending with "Wikipedia" to indicate that particular text was copied from Wikipedia. An image and other text before or after the Wikipedia excerpt may be from sources completely unrelated to Wikipedia. We have no control over how Google presents our information, but Google's Knowledge Graph has a "Feedback" link where anyone can mark a field as wrong. The same feedback facility is also provided on Bing and some other search engines. —Tenryuu 🐲 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 05:51, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I confirmed that the 2018 revenue listed in the LabCorp article matches the reference provided. If you have an issue with the LabCorp Wikipedia article, please post on the article's talk page: Talk:LabCorp, and provide a published reliable source if possible. Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 13:30, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
We have zero control over Google's (ab)use of its platform. The Knowledge Panel pulls from a multitude of sources, of which Wikipedia is merely one of them. —A little blue Bori v^_^v Jéské Couriano 16:11, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The article on LabCorp was vandalised on the 15th September by an IP that changed the revenue from 11.3 billion to 11.3 trillion [1], that vandalism was fixed earlier today after 69.41.37.60 brought attention to it [2]. Now you just need to wait for google to update its display. 192.76.8.74 (talk) 16:17, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Font size

edit

Hello, something happened the other day, I don't know what I did, but since that moment the letter size of Wikipedia is much larger - too large. It's only on en.wikipedia, not on the other languages. How can I undo this?

Thanks! Glatisant (talk) 08:57, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Glatisant: - if you are on a computer CTRL and - will reduce font size. Mjroots (talk) 10:20, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
... and CTRL 0 will usually set font size display to default. --David Biddulph (talk) 10:27, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks very much, it worked! Glatisant (talk) 10:57, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Can I start a new article about "Synthetic Data"?

edit

Dear Wikipedia Help Desk,

There is an article called "Synthetic Data" which appears to be a subtopic under Statistics. I'd like to start a new Synthetic Data article being a top level topic unto itself. The problem I have with the current article is that it is too limited, not a very comprehensive discussion of the topic, that it is not very informative, doesnt contain the stuff I would like to show, and that I can't really edit it myself.

My original desire was to propose edits to the existing article, and I thought I was doing that correctly. I proposed a tiny change in way of experiment, and I thought I had submitted it according to the way things are done, but I never heard back on that proposed edit (while since that time other edits, in this case from anonymous ips back in June, have been accepted and applied to the page).

What is the best way to proceed?

Thank you very much!

Hello @Jdgadi, and welcome to Wikipedia! This post is afaict the only one you made on WP, and Talk:Synthetic data is empty, so I don't know what tiny change you proposed. Have you checked the article history? [3] Perhaps you edited the article and someone reverted you. It is easier to edit an existing article, and there shouldn't be 2 articles about the same topic, unless one is a sub-topic of the other. Of course, sometimes topics have the same name, but then one is named Synthetic data (religion) or whatever.
I know nothing of the topic, but a few options:
Suggest changes at Talk:Synthetic data. Maybe someone will see it and act/respond at some point.
Seek input at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Statistics. Again, you never know with us volunteers, but you may catch peoples interest.
Be WP:BOLD and start editing. WP:TUTORIAL can get you started (and/or WP:ADVENTURE). It is essential that you learn how to add inline references, without them, anything you add in article-space is likely to be removed sooner or later. Hope this helps.

--Shaban Roman Petrovich (talk) 17:39, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Opus Dei COI, Possible sockpuppetry, Confused GAR nominator

edit

Hi y'all! I've been working on a possible FL for the past few weeks and while doing some research on Spanish history for it, I came across the article for Opus Dei. It's unbearably dense to read, hardly WP:NPOV, and I came out after reading it knowing just about as much as I knew going in, just incredibly more confused. Thus, I submitted a GA Community Reassessment nom to see how the article could be improved and delist is necessary. However, while investigating the possible COIs in the article (after reading a previous reassessment nom I realized that the level of COI editing here is stunning:

  • In terms of authorship, I found COI activity in Marax Contributions (15% authorship, second biggest), Lafem (7.2% authorship, 3rd biggest), Walter Ching (5.5% authorship, 4th biggest), Arturo Cruz (3.3% authorship, 6th biggest), StatutesMan (2.7%, 9th biggest), and so on. Just these examples alone (definitely not all the COI or possible WP:Sockpuppet edits) account for over a third of all authorship to the article.
  • In regards to account just for text-added percentage, Thomas S. Major, IP 1, IP 2 plus the users mentioned above account for 62.3% of added text.
  • Going down the xtools authorship list the number of hispanic or god-referencing users as well as IPs that have edited the page make me suspect the numbers mentioned above are probably much bigger.

This is positively insane. I have never seen such a massive COI situation. I honestly don't even know what to do. Is it possible to WP:COIN all of them? Should an investigation be done to see if the IPs are WP:SOCK? Protect the article? I'm so stunned that I have been somewhat paralyzed in my wiki editing. Help is most appreciated. A. C. WikiProject

edit

How are people supposed to be aware when an article's content is being discussed on a WikiProject discussion board? The main place to discuss changes is an article's talk page, correct? Shouldn't the talk page be informed, or is this not required?Cable10291 (talk) 19:51, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

As a matter of courtesy, it is generally done, but I do not believe it is a hard requirement. Beeblebrox (talk) 20:08, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Cable10291: Hi there! You can add WikiProject talk pages to your watchlist the same way you add articles to your watchlist. Hope this helps, and happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 20:49, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hostile behavioral editor encounter

edit
WP:FORUMSHOP, already at ANI, not a help desk issue anyway. Beeblebrox (talk) 20:30, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The case of MfactDr is not resolved yet at WP:ANI, and still making problem by reversing my typo fix and possibly oversee my edit in every Oromo related subjects. Though I convince myself to be an objective and reasonable often with self-culpability and through discussion for mutual agreement between opposite conflicts, this user is very tough defiant uncontrollable through their edits such as propagate biases and ethnicized every Oromo topics. MfactDr does not want to discuss for WP:DISCUSSCONSENSUS and considered as behavioral, and very disruptive. So, I need a neutral administrator for arbitrary especially depending for respect WP:MOS, WP:NPOV, and WP:Talk page guidelines. I'm ready to assume good faith and rely to MfactDr interest sincerely. Completely Erroneous Entry

edit

How can I correct an almost completely erroneous entry?

Completely rewrite it (inviting complete reversal) or write a separate entry?

This not one of those "I have the right to correct information about me" things - it's something else. Wrcsuk (talk) 22:21, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Wrcsuk A Wikipedia article should summarize what independent reliable sources state. Without knowing what article you mean, if the article at issue does not summarize its sources accurately, please detail the specific errors on the article talk page. If there are sources and information missing, you may discuss that on the talk page as well. If the sources are summarized accurately, and you just do not like what they say, there isn't much we can do. 331dot (talk) 22:27, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Wrcsuk: A separate entry is not an option. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and only has one article with a given scope per Wikipedia:Content forking. PrimeHunter (talk) 00:16, 29 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Wrcsuk: the best approach is incremental change, even if the existing article appears to be hopeless. Start by proposing your change in general terms on the talk page, possibly with an outline. If you get consensus (or no responses after a week or so) then put an {{under construction}} banner on the article and start to work, retaining anything (e.g., references) that are useful. You must make sure that all of your information has reliable sources. You must also make sure that you do not remove information that has reliable sources, but if your sources contradict the old sources, you may explicitly describe the contradiction in the article. -Arch dude (talk) 15:37, 29 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Developing an article is too complicated

edit

Is there a space where I can type the information like regular text? The instructions here are not written very well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gbocmusic (talkcontribs) 23:05, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Gbocmusic: Hello Gbocmusic, welcome to wikipedia!
Have you tried the VisualEditor? In the top right hand corner when editing an article click on the image of the pencil and swap to the eye. It'll give you a what you see is what you get editing interface like most other text editors. It can be a bit buggy and it doesn't support all features yet, but it works fine for most article editing. 192.76.8.74 (talk) 23:14, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
