  • "The GM controls player transactions, hiring and firing of the coaching staff, and negotiates with players and agents regarding contracts" - use the same verb form throughout this sentence (Parallelism (grammar)).
  • "George Steinbrenner headed a 12-man group which bought the team." - when did this happen?
  • Use the same date format for retrieval dates throughout the sources.
  • Why is "The Baseball Cube" a reliable source?
  • Alt text for Brian Cashman does not match the picture.
  • Alt text for the Jacob Ruppert plaque picture is just a rewording of the caption
  • Add alt text for the images of Gabe Paul and Lou Piniella.

  • Grammar fixed, Steinbrenner sourced, same date format used. Will fix alt text. "The Baseball Cube" is a reliable baseball statistics site. However, I used those sources when this table used to have statistics, so I'm beginning the process of finding better news sources to replace them. Also, some sources used go to BR Bullpen, which is a wiki and a no-no. I'm in the process of changing those to appropriate sources. – Muboshgu (talk) 14:55, 27 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Not sure why General Manager is a proper noun.
  • "following his behavior " needs explanation.
  • " limited partners," what's a "limited partner"?
  • " as control person of " is that a general manager or something else? I have never heard the phrase "control person"...!
  • Ref -> Ref(s).
  • "commonly referred to as "The Boss"." reference please.
  • "served as field manager and General Manager in 1988." again, any reason why field manager (what is that, by the way?) and General Manager should be capitalised differently?
  • "Gabe Paul was General Manager of the " same thing...
  • Check for WP:DASH violations, like ref 19.
  • Don't SHOUT as you do in the title of ref 10.
  • New York Times or The New York Times... the latter I think, but be consistent.
  • Time Magazine is a work so should be in italics.

Oppose – Always a sad day when I oppose a Yankees-related page, but I don't think the sourcing is up to par, among other issues. Overall this feels a little underdeveloped.
  • "Jacob Ruppert purchased the team in 1915. Larry MacPhail was forced out of the Yankees ownership group following his behavior after the 1947 World Series." First, this is extremely awkward to read as one sentence has nothing to do with the other. Second, Ruppert was only a co-owner, as the list itself indicates; Huston was the other co-owner. Third, for what behavior was MacPhail removed?
    • There still isn't anything on how Ruppert wasn't the only one who bought the team at that time. I believe that is relevant, if the sale is worthy of mention in the prose (which I believe it is). Giants2008 (Talk) 22:09, 10 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • From ref 6, the quote does not show up as a quote in the New York Times story, and it does not what is presented there, which is "nothing more limited than being a limited partner of Steinbrenner's." That's closer to how I remember the quote being said, from when I've heard it.
  • The lead could say something about the general managers, other than what they do. There have been more of them than owners, yet they get almost no representation in the lead. This is what I'm talking about when I say that I believe this is underdeveloped.
  • In ref 1, the publisher (Baseball America) should be italicized, in addition to the one TRM mentioned.

  • The all caps in ref 10 should be removed, and the hyphens in the title should be converted into a dash.
  • Time for the major concern: source reliability. I also question Baseball Cube, and the Baseball America database accepts user submissions, so I'm not sold on that either. Given that almost half of the total references are to these two sources, it leads me to have serious doubts about the list as a whole. Giants2008 (Talk) 20:24, 1 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Well, hopefully I can prevent you from opposing a Yankee-related page. I just need a little time, but I feel that I can address those concerns, including improving the sources from statistics pages (and pages that accept user submissions, I was unaware that BA works that way).
