Damn.

There is a vote going on whether or not to change the title of the album article from Damn to Damn. - if you're interested Talk:Damn_(album)#Requested_move_15_April_2017 --Jennica / talk 20:40, 18 April 2017 (UTC)

Loyalty

I made a draft of Loyalty because I'm not sure how notable it is on its own yet Draft:Loyalty (Kendrick Lamar song). Feel free to add to it. I heard that the song has been added to some radio stations, so it might chart and is likely going to be single down the road. If it's time for it to become an article, you just move it to the namespace without the "draft"; so, "Loyalty (Kendrick Lamar song)". --Jennica / talk 06:22, 19 April 2017 (UTC)

Hi. Just to let you know, you didn't carry out the move correctly. There's a "move" function in the top menu next to "edit history" on every page. it's not a big deal, but i am just letting you know for next time. How to: Wikipedia:Moving_a_page#How_to_move_a_page --Jennica / talk 05:52, 20 April 2017 (UTC)
Oh my bad. Thanks I'll make sure to do it right next time. BeatlesLedTV (talk) 15:24, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

Thank you...

... for going through and adding missing references to so many Grammy-related lists (especially the ones that have been promoted to Featured status). I've been meaning to do this for a long time. You are helping to preserve the quality of some great lists, so thanks again! ---Another Believer (Talk) 19:55, 26 April 2017 (UTC)

6/2017 personnel edits

Please note that common musical instruments should not be linked in most WP music-related articles. WP:OVERLINKING includes:

A good question to ask yourself is whether reading the article you're about to link to would help someone understand the article you are linking from. Unless a term is particularly relevant to the context in the article, the following are not usually linked:

  • Everyday words understood by most readers in context

This is also incorporated into MOS:ALBUM#Personnel and the example given there:

Do not link common instruments (see WP:OVERLINK):

  • Johnny Bee – guitar
  • Sally Morris – glockenspiel, guitar, organ, kazoo
  • Mike Yaris – producer

Since the context is a musical performance, most readers would understand what vocals, guitar, bass, drums, piano, etc., are. Save the links for lesser known instruments, like autoharp, dulcimer, tabla, piccolo bass, etc. Also, {{snd}} is a handy way to add an endash with before and after spaces. —Ojorojo (talk) 13:13, 30 June 2017 (UTC)

July 2017

Hello, I'm Sundayclose. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Maybe I'm Amazed, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Sundayclose (talk) 21:26, 21 July 2017 (UTC)

Hey Sundayclose, I had meant to find citations for that specific sentence but I got sidetracked with other edits. I'll look for a source or two that makes that sentence reliable. Thanks for letting me know. BeatlesLedTV (talk) 01:00, 22 July 2017 (UTC)

Cover versions guideline

I see you have been adding a lot of cover versions to song articles. Please read the guideline at WP:SONGCOVER which sets a high bar to inclusion. Album tracks, bonus tracks, B-sides and most live performances don't qualify for inclusion. The cover version must have been mentioned by a reliable source which is writing on the subject of the song itself rather than simply reviewing the cover or the cover band. Otherwise a cover version released as a single usually counts for inclusion, or a version that charts, or an online version that has several million views, or a cover version that has received widespread notice in multiple publications. As written, the guideline at SONGCOVER does not allow our song articles to become an exhaustive list of every existing version. Binksternet (talk) 07:06, 7 September 2017 (UTC)

Got it. Thanks for letting me know. BeatlesLedTV (talk) 17:06, 7 September 2017 (UTC)

List of songs recorded by Led Zeppelin

List of Led Zeppelin songs written or inspired by others

Since you're tackling LZ lists, is this worth the effort? The focus seems to be more on plagiarism/law suits than what inspired them – there are external links to Furious.com/Perfect Sound Forever (user generated sites), that are well-known for Page bashing. Also the layout is awkward and makes little sense (if it's about songs, why is it arranged by album?). It survived an AfD, but seems amateurish and non-encyclopedic as it is. —Ojorojo (talk) 15:30, 2 October 2017 (UTC)

I think it'd be worth another discussion to determine it officially but it seems like it's there just to put songs written or inspired by others on 1 page. The main problem with it is the way it's sorted but I think it could be improved a little. If you want to start another AfD discussion I'll definitely help out with it. BeatlesLedTV (talk) 16:43, 2 October 2017 (UTC)
I think the general topic has merit, but it's poorly executed. There is a List of Bob Dylan songs based on earlier tunes, which is more objective (but underdeveloped). There are also several Category:Lists of cover songs, which deal strictly with songs an artist covered. A separate "Led Zeppelin plagiarism" article would be worthwhile (which is probably what this list creator had in mind). But mixing them all together is somewhat confusing and I'm not sure how to sort it out. —Ojorojo (talk) 17:26, 2 October 2017 (UTC)
I think that would work. Maybe fill out a draft article in a sandbox or you and I could create one together. Totally up to you. I'm gonna fix up that Bob Dylan list you mentioned. BeatlesLedTV (talk) 17:37, 2 October 2017 (UTC)

Led Zeppelin

Hi. I resolved my comments and offered my support. Care to look at my FFC? Jimknut (talk)

Absolutely! BeatlesLedTV (talk) 20:55, 2 October 2017 (UTC)

List of songs recorded by Led Zeppelin

Hi, BeatlesLedTV. The list has the three supports you mentioned, which is typically enough to put it in the range of being promoted. The one thing the article could still use is a source review. If I get the chance to go through FLC tomorrow, I'll make a note on the "Nominations urgently needing reviews" template that your FLC needs a source review, which will hopefully attract an interested editor to have a look at the referencing. Giants2008 (Talk) 18:32, 7 October 2017 (UTC)

Awesome thanks very much. BeatlesLedTV (talk) 03:53, 8 October 2017 (UTC)
Congrats on bringing this to FL. I see you already have another candidate. I don't know if discographies interest you, but the Eric Clapton discography needs attention. It has been subject to a lot of vandalism and sock puppetry, but there's a lot of interest in him. Anyway, good work! —Ojorojo (talk) 17:49, 20 October 2017 (UTC)
Thanks so much for your help! It's my first featured list and I can't thank you enough! I'm not as familiar with discography pages but yeah I can look into it. Thanks again. BeatlesLedTV (talk) 19:08, 20 October 2017 (UTC)

I would appreciate your comments here. This is my first attempt at a Hollywood film accolades list BTW. Do let me know if you are interested in reviewing this by pinging me. Thank you.    — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 16:07, 20 November 2017 (UTC)

Eric Clapton Discography

I see you're doing some work on the EC discography. You may be aware that the article has been heavily vandalized (see Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Matthiasberoli/Archive) and many of the chart positions, certifications, sales figures, etc., have been faked. Good luck sorting it out if you want to take it that far. =FWIW, I'm no fan of the popular WP discography style (half way through the tables I'm counting the columns and wondering "what country is this?"). It's not perfect, but I think the Jimi Hendrix discography is a better approach. At least is places more emphasis on the releases rather than the sales info. —Ojorojo (talk) 16:15, 24 November 2017 (UTC)

Yeah I noticed that a lot of the references were fake. I'm a little held up on a couple song lists I'm creating at the moment but one of these days I can try to improve it! BeatlesLedTV (talk) 16:22, 24 November 2017 (UTC)

List of songs recorded by Syd Barrett FLC

Hi, BeatlesLedTV. Typically, us FLC closers want to see a minimum of three supports before closing a nom. As the list had two supports when I checked it during a review of FLC today, I think it could use one more support before promotion. I'll keep an eye on it, and if nobody else reviews the list in the next week or so I can always have a look at the article. Giants2008 (Talk) 19:38, 3 December 2017 (UTC)

Giants2008 Ah I see. I said something mainly because it has two official supports and The Rambling Man made a bunch of comments but didn't officially support. Thanks very much. BeatlesLedTV (talk) 20:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)

MOS:ACCESS

I could be missing something, but where at MOS:ACCESS does it say anything about having to use those plainrowheaders (or whatever they're called)? JG66 (talk) 07:47, 7 December 2017 (UTC)

JG66 Check out MOS:DTAB more specifically. BeatlesLedTV (talk) 16:15, 7 December 2017 (UTC)
I can't see anything about plainrowheaders there ...(?) I get the impression (from the Songs recorded by George Harrison list) that you're big on using shades, colours and symbols. With the changes you made to the charts table in that song article above, and just now at Wonderwall Music, you've introduced contrasting shades, but I think they looked much better without the contrast – and it's not as if the contrast is necessary for interpreting the info. Is this a default property in the template or something? JG66 (talk) 20:22, 8 December 2017 (UTC)
JG66 Yes. Basically when you use ! scope row, the exclamation point makes it shaded. Also, if you don't have plainrowheaders the text become bold and centered. Plainrowheaders makes it to where it's shaded but unbolded and left-aligned. If you use a | and not a !, the box is unshaded but it's still scope rowed. I'll change those two tables in the articles to have it unshaded. BeatlesLedTV (talk) 20:29, 8 December 2017 (UTC)
Found more info about plainrowheaders at MOS:DTT. Check it out if you want more info. BeatlesLedTV (talk) 20:43, 8 December 2017 (UTC)
Thanks, and for changing them back also. Cheers, JG66 (talk) 22:43, 8 December 2017 (UTC)
