WP:NSONGS

Please read our guideline about which songs receive independent articles. To get an independent article, a song must have received substantial coverage in reliable sources, and charted, been recorded by multiple notable artists, or won an award. "Who Says" has done none of those things.—Kww(talk) 18:20, 21 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Whosaysvideo.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 02:27, 25 March 2011 (UTC). If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 02:27, 25 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:Somebody.jpg

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Somebody.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 02:29, 25 March 2011 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 02:29, 25 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, a number of your recent file uploads, such as File:Rainingmen.jpg, have been missing information regarding their copyright status. Please note that Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously and that the copyright status of all media files uploaded to Wikipedia must be verifiable by others. If you have questions regarding copyright on Wikipedia, they can be raised at the copyright question page. Thank you. It is extremely unlikely that you created the artwork for various albums and singles, created a music video AND own the copyrights on all of them. If you saved a file from another website or did a screen capture, the images' copyrights still belong to the artists and/or their labels. You must present a fair use rational on the image page and state where you got them. Otherwise, they will be deleted. SummerPhD (talk) 23:44, 27 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Modifying direct quotes

edit

Please don't modify direct quotes, as you did here. If you look at http://motherjones.com/media/2011/01/peggy-orenstein-cinderella-ate-my-daughter?page=1 you will see the text matches what the article originally contained.—Kww(talk) 03:29, 30 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
