Hello

Whilst I'm glad to see you back, I think you should take some of the above advice (eg. from Drmies) seriously. I'll reiterate that I think you have the makings of a good contributor, but try and bite your tongue more often. Being funny isn't always constructive. Deb (talk) 10:35, 1 April 2013 (UTC)

Easter Rising

Can you tell me what prompted you to add this "amusing" comment and this one to Talk:Easter Rising? Is it part of some dispute you are having with some other user on some other page? Who is Auchinleck and what has he to do with anything? These posts are not helpful to discussion. They are disruptive. Please stop. Scolaire (talk) 15:03, 1 April 2013 (UTC)

I assume this is an April Fool, Scolaire. Well done! Basket Feudalist 15:09, 1 April 2013 (UTC)
I'm asking you to stop acting the fool. Scolaire (talk) 15:10, 1 April 2013 (UTC)
Intelligent. Just to answer your points (such as they were): I am not in any dispute with anyone, so do not try and create one; I'm glad you recognised my remarks for what they were, viz 'amusing; You don't know who Auchinleck, is or how to find out? - and as to the relevence of my remark re: Auchinleck, did you actually read the posts above? -as it was in response to a remark by an IP editor; the posts are not disruptive, so please desist from leave posts like that. Finally- do not accuse me of not being 'helpful to the discussion': you accused the editor of 'not knowing your history'. That was pretty solid LACK of GOOD FAITH!!!, and combined with personal attacks; well-! No offence... Basket Feudalist 15:23, 1 April 2013 (UTC)
On a lighter note, the IP has just posted again, and that reminded me what I meant specifically about Auchinleck: he had previously mentioned him, calling him one of the greatest Irishmen of the century (which I assumed was a joke at first, but apparantly not), then you asked him if he could indent, etc etc. The reason I just remembered that... because he just replied; and didn't indent!!! Íorónta... Basket Feudalist 15:44, 1 April 2013 (UTC)

Field Marshal Lord Auchinleck was Commander-in-Chief of Allied forces in the North African campaign during World War II. How exactly could he not be considered one of the greatest Irishmen of the last century, even if he never achieved the same following as Field Marshal Montgomery? (92.7.29.57 (talk) 15:48, 1 April 2013 (UTC))

No offence (it's not a major issue) but is there corroboration for calling him an Irishman? Would he have self-identified as such (or even appreciated being so identified)?! His family may have been from co. Fermanagh but he was born in Aldershot and went to school in Berkshire and Sandhurst, and then buggered off to India??? Which can't have left a lot of time being in Ireland, let alone for being Irish!!! Basket Feudalist 15:59, 1 April 2013 (UTC)

He was more Irish than Eamon de Valera. (92.7.29.57 (talk) 16:03, 1 April 2013 (UTC))

Absolutely. And less than the duke of Wellington! Basket Feudalist 16:08, 1 April 2013 (UTC)

Yes. Wellington's family had been in Ireland since the 12th century. (92.7.29.57 (talk) 16:15, 1 April 2013 (UTC))

I still find it hard to believe that Auch. would have called himself Irish. I can't see it helping with his career or' society position, in Edwardian England? Fair play to the fellow, but-? Basket Feudalist 16:43, 1 April 2013 (UTC)

Edward supported political reform, he just didn't support Home Rule because he knew it would break up the UK. (92.7.29.57 (talk) 18:41, 1 April 2013 (UTC))

By 'Edwardian England' I meant the social attitudal norms of the time. Nothing to do with the king. Point being: Auc.would not have boasted about being Irish because he wanted a career in the Army- specificallly as an OFFICER- and a social position commensurate with that of an English gentleman. Etc etc. Rock on! Basket Feudalist 18:55, 1 April 2013 (UTC)
PS: this kind of thing... Basket Feudalist 19:00, 1 April 2013 (UTC)

I know my history. My Irish great-great uncle was one of the Black and Tans, and he also served as a soldier during the Easter Rising. (92.7.29.57 (talk) 15:46, 1 April 2013 (UTC))

Yes I would've put my money on that   but will you be indenting at any point?! Beannachtaí na Cásca ort   Basket Feudalist 15:51, 1 April 2013 (UTC)

Censorship

There is no censorship on Wikipedia. How dare you rv my comments from the Thatcher talk page. Quis separabit? 14:50, 9 April 2013 (UTC)

I quite understand from your username that racism becomes you; and language like 'scum' just illustrates your lack of integrity and professionalism. There is indeed no censorship; however, civility is still a requirement. Ergo: I do so dare, and will continue to dare. Slán go faoill   Basket Feudalist 14:55, 9 April 2013 (UTC)
I suspected you're an Irish republican, and thus expert at censorship, manipulation and jingoism. Back to An Poblacht and Slugger O'Toole. Glad you like my signature (which is not my username). Quis separabit? 15:28, 9 April 2013 (UTC)
BTW: Your username suits you, but hopefully you understand the difference between acting like a man and being one. And real men don't make snarky comments about old women after they die just because they don't like their politics. That's my last comment here before you get your fellow MOPES to gang up on me. Quis separabit? 15:31, 9 April 2013 (UTC)
I fail to see the necessity in your gratuitous offensiveness. Or was it because I at some point let slip how completely effing blocked I was last night after celebrating the good news   You are very suspicious indeed... or is it just that you can read userboxes?!?! AfC BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge 2012

Hi there. Thank you for reviewing my AfC, however I feel the need to point out some key facts. I did not create the article on a whim - there is a dead-link at Live Lounge for the article. Secondly, the album did reach the number 1 position in the Compilation Albums Chart in 2012. Thirdly, regarding the citations, please see Volume 1, Volume 2, Volume 3, Volume 4, Volume 5 and Volume 6 and you will note a similar lack of citations, and yet these are regarded as being good articles. This is not a bad thing per se. Please re-think your decision, and if you are not 100% certain, perhaps ask someone from the 'WikiProject Music', 'WikiProject Albums' or 'WikiProject BBC' to take a look? — Preceding unsigned comment added by AnthonyW90 (talkcontribs) 15:07, 9 April 2013 (UTC)

ANI

Just a heads up, when you make a note of someone at ANI or even talk about them in a significant way, you are required to notify them. Easiest to use the template at the top of the page, where it explains this rule. Also, ANI is like night court, a bunch of grumpy tired admins dealing with problems. It is required that a problem be attempted to be solved somewhere else first, unless it is an emergency. The real purpose of the place is to deal with behavioral problems, just as WP:DRN and WP:BLPN deal with content problems. When you have a new user who is really confused or struggling, the best place to drop a line is on their talk page, with a pointer to WP:Teahouse. Or drop a note at the Teahouse or WP:Wikiproject Editor Retention if you don't want to get personally involved, and someone will help them from there. When someone is having problems, we do want to know, but it is helpful to drop it off at the right venue. Dennis Brown - © Join WER 17:47, 15 April 2013 (UTC)

I would be grateful if you could refrain from making comments on usertalk pages relating to block or unblock comments posted be me or by other admins, such as you did on this editor's page. It verges on harassment, which is a blockable activity, and clearly is not helpful either to the editor or to the encyclopedia. I have no idea where the accusation of WP:COI came from, sorry! But the article is about a potentially controversial topic, so needs thorough sourcing. He must have had lots of online and hard coverage in newspapers and news websites (not blogs etc), in England and the continent- e.g., I googled 'Thomas Deichmann the Guardian' and got a couple of hits, so try that with various high-end sources (national newspapers, magazines, and their respective sites, say)? We have changed the number of suggested articles and which categories they are selected from. We have also modified the layout of the suggestions and added sortable columns with various types of information about each article. The first two columns are:

Daily average number of views an article's had over the past 14 days.
Quality
Predicted article quality on a 1- to 3-star scale. Placing your cursor over the stars should give you a pop-up describing the article's quality (Low/Medium/High), current assessment class, and predicted assessment class.

The method we use to predict article quality also allows us to assess whether an article might need specific types of work in order to improve its quality. The work needed might not correspond to cleanup tags added to the article, since our method is not based on those. We have added five columns reflecting this work assessment, where a red X indicates improvement is needed. Placing your cursor over an X should give you a pop-up with a short description of the work needed. The five columns seek to answer the following five questions:

Content
Is more content needed?
Headings
Does this article have an appropriate section structure?
Images
Is the number of illustrative images about right?
Links
Does this article link to enough other Wikipedia articles?
Sources
For its length, is there an appropriate number of citations to sources in this article?

SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. We appreciate that you have signed up to receive suggestions regularly, your contributions make Wikipedia better — thanks for helping!

Please stop your disruptive editing, as you did at User talk:SuperMarioMan. Your edits have been reverted or removed.

Do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively may result in your being blocked from editing. Grow up and get glasses that fit better. DMacks (talk) 01:28, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
