September 2018 edit

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), such as at Wikipedia:Teahouse, please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button   located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. Drm310 🍁 (talk) 18:10, 15 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Article Corn Sauce edit

Dear Team.

Somehow I can't find my article anymore under my account? I wanted to discuss how to improve and what is missing for successful publishing, but somehow I can't find it anymore?

Can I get guidance, please?

WuHaiJie (talk) 08:19, 18 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Your draft is now located at Draft:Corn Sauce. Article drafts do not belong on your user page. That page is for describing yourself as a Wikipedia editor. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 08:30, 18 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Dear Cullen328. Last time you offered me to discuss about the quality to be improved for the article. I thought about it and wanted to understand more after reading through your guidelines and looking at comparable articles like yeast extract, soya sauce, etc. Could you advise me in which direction I should look more into? --WuHaiJie (talk) 08:38, 18 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Dear Team. I understand now why I was blocked. I am working in China and I was searching for the citations of different references for my article. This I do preferably using Google search and Google books. In order to do so, I needed ExpressVPN. Unfortunately I left the connection on while editing my corn sauce article. This triggered the blockage. I know that this is not allowed and it was not on purpose. May I suggest, that in future for editing I always keep the Express unconnected so to avoid these infringements? WuHaiJie (talk) 08:21, 29 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Procedural decline only, as I am not seeing a block on this account. If you are still prevented from editing, please copy and paste the exact message that appears when you attempt to edit in your next request. However, yes, you need to keep your VPN off when editing Wikipedia. If you are editing from China, you may be able to request an exemption to permit you to use a VPN if necessary. 331dot (talk) 10:39, 29 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Dear Team. I fully understand and respect it. I solved the problem: I switched to source edit and it worked. I switched back to view edit and the "publish changes" got active again. Don't know what blocked me actually, as I as well checked the list of blockages. Thanks anyhow for all your help. WuHaiJie (talk) 00:12, 30 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Blocked IP - working from China using VPN on Corn sauce article edit

ST47 Dear Team. I am currently unable to edit Wikipedia due to a block affecting my IP address. I am working currently in China and need to use express VPN to work in Wikipedia. Perhaps somebody can help me to unblock me in English Wiki?

I copy you the text of the notice here. Please help me because I have some updates to the article:

"You are currently unable to edit Wikipedia due to a block affecting your IP address. This does not affect your ability to read Wikipedia pages. Most people who see this message have done nothing wrong. Some kinds of blocks restrict editing from specific service providers or telecom companies in response to recent abuse or vandalism, and affect other users who are unrelated to that abuse. See below if you do not believe you have done anything wrong.

Editing from 45.135.186.0/24 has been blocked (disabled) by ‪ST47‬ for the following reason(s): "

PS: I promise not to mess up any articles and respect the rules of Wiki. I am a fan of Wiki.--WuHaiJie (talk) 03:18, 15 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
