Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Thank you. -- Ed (Edgar181) 21:00, 19 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

There's no reason to unblock you if you're only here to create an article about a non-notable business. Wikipedia is not a free advertising platform. OhNoitsJamie Talk 00:19, 20 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Ohnoitsjamie. I have no intention of using Wikipedia for free advertising. I don't think any part of the page I created reflects free advertising. Please point out any part of the article that you think is promotional, and I will remove it. Also, i'm unsure what would make a business more "notable" for wikipedia. Popularity? Revenue? Customers? Can you explain more? Thanks.

Decline reason:

It seems to me based on your response that you plan to continue making edits about your company. That is unacceptable per our policies. As for notability, see Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies) for our notability guidelines. only (talk) 02:01, 20 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hello. Thank you for the link about notability. I still would like to be unblocked and my name changed. I am not going to just exclusively make edits on the page I created, I just thought it would be a good way to start creating and editing content here on Wikipedia. First, I wanted to be unblocked so I can edit the page I created to remove the "promotional material" that my page was deleted for and make it suitable for Wikipedia policy. I would then go on to edit and create other things. Also I'd like to be unblocked so I can write on other talk pages. One last thing: you said it is "unacceptable per our policies" to continue making edits about the page I created. Can you explain that policy or link a page to what you mean? Why is against policy to edit an article to make it suitable for Wiki? Thanks.Winstonshuttle (talk) 02:29, 20 January 2016 (UTC)

Decline reason:

You've requested unblocking three times now, and every time you've gone back to arguing about the merits of a promotional and non-significant article. There's nothing to suggest that you are interested in editing outside of that area. You've had this explained to you numerous times by very patient editors. I think it's time to give up the ghost. The page you created was already quickly deleted, and if you or another account recreated it, it would be simply deleted again for not meeting WP:CORP notability guidelines. OhNoitsJamie Talk 06:12, 20 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hello, it explains under the WP:CORP notability guidelines that a organization must have reliable sources independent of the organization, that the depth of coverage does not have to be substantial, it can be multiple independent sources, and must have a strong regional audience. Also, notability is not temporary, if something was notable at one time, it is always notable. I used multiple independent sources as my references in the page, I'm not sure if anyone looked. I can link them here again, and more, if you'd like. These reliable sources include The New York Times, The East Hampton Star, News 12 Long Island. Please consider unblocking me and changing my username to DLashe (abbreviation for my name) and also recovering my page I created. Thanks.

No, I'm not recovering the page of a small business that was appropriately speedily deleted. Being mentioned in passing in a few local publications does not satisfy notability criteria. I'm not discussing it further. OhNoitsJamie Talk 15:41, 20 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

I'm sorry for taking up your time. Thank you for listening to me this far. But I'm confused. The New York Times is hardly a "local publication," it is the most notable and largest newspaper in the United States. News 12 is not a "local publication", it is the largest cable news coverage for the entire tri-state area. Those are just two examples. We were not mentioned in passing in these publications. I really don't think you checked my sources, so please take a look at them. How can you make an accurate decision if you don't? Thanks again.
