Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Wikstroler. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. If you have a personal relationship with Ricardo Costa, you should not promote his work on Wikipedia. Even if you don't, Wikipedia is not a platform for promotion of self-published personal essays like Mr. Costa's. As I already explained at Talk:14th Dalai Lama#Unsuitable external link, they are not allowed as external links. I have removed the links you added to several other articles since then. Sorry about that, and thanks for your understanding. IamNotU (talk) 00:20, 17 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

December 2019

edit

  Hello, I noticed that you may have recently made edits to Interdisciplinarity and Complexity while logged out. Wikipedia's policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow the use of both an account and an IP address by the same person in the same setting and doing so may result in your account being blocked from editing. Additionally, making edits while logged out reveals your IP address, which may allow others to determine your location and identity. If this was not your intention, please remember to log in when editing. Thank you. IamNotU (talk) 01:33, 17 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Uff, nevermind all that. You're obviously a sockpuppet of Tertulius. Please stop doing this, it looks very bad on you. --IamNotU (talk) 03:55, 17 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
