July 2023 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "White American 2023", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because you've immediately started race-related articles with it. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. I would also encourage you to change your username. Walt Yoder (talk) 00:09, 21 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Your edit to Las Vegas has been removed in whole or in part, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more information on uploading your material to Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted material, including text or images from print publications or from other websites, without an appropriate and verifiable license. All such contributions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously, and persistent violators of our copyright policy will be blocked from editing. See Wikipedia:Copying text from other sources for more information.   Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Taco. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Tacos are not just Californian cuisine and are found in all 50 states of the U.S. and in many other countries. Geoff | Who, me? 12:21, 21 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi White American 2023! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Americans several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Americans, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. EvergreenFir (talk) 05:31, 22 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for edit warring. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text at the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  EvergreenFir (talk) 05:46, 22 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

There is a discussion about your username edit

Hello. Concerns have been raised that your username may be incompatible with policy. You can contribute to the discussion about it at the page for requests for comment on usernames. Alternatively, if you agree that your username may be problematic and are willing to change it, it is possible for you to keep your present contributions history under a new name. Simply request a new name at Wikipedia:Changing username following the guidelines on that page, rather than creating a whole new account. Thank you. DanCherek (talk) 17:48, 24 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for July 26 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited African-American history, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Voodoo. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:05, 26 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Referencing edit

Hi there, I see you have been adding bare links when referencing. If you are struggling with the Wikitext editing when it comes to citations, I recommend enabling the editing toolbar and the Visual Editor if you haven't already as it came help significantly with citations. To do so for the editing toolbar, go to Preferences, then Editing and find the option for 'Enable the editing toolbar'. Thanks, Tweedle (talk) 16:23, 27 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

July 2023 edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for race-based trolling, including a username clearly meant to provoke given the context, plus flagrant copyright violations. This is based on the outcome of an RfC/N thread.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.   -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 00:01, 31 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Blocked for sockpuppetry edit

Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/White American 2023. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.
