Proposed deletion of Comic book culture

edit

The article Comic book culture has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

An essay of some sort. OR and synthesis.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Article moved to your user space

edit

I don't think this qualifies as an attack page, so rather than delete it I have moved it to your user space at User:Waynedorey/Comic book culture where you can work on it. However I must warn you that I think there is no chance of its being acceptable in anything like its present form, because of Wikipedia's fundamental policy WP:No original research. You should read the whole of that, but two most relevant passages are:

  • "If no reliable third-party sources can be found on a topic, Wikipedia should not have an article about it. If you discover something new, Wikipedia is not the place to announce such a discovery."
  • "Do not combine material from multiple sources to reach or imply a conclusion not explicitly stated by any of the sources."

The point is that the business of an encyclopedia is only to summarise material already published in reliable sources. Wikipedia's WP:Notability requirement is for references showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject."

As you have a web series by the same name, you should be aware that Wikipedia is very resistant to anything that seems like self-promotion, and should read the WP:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide.

I'm sorry if all this seems rather negative. The links in the Welcome message above will tell you more about Wikipedia. WP:Your first article is a good introduction. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 09:43, 22 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
