Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Warren.ojai. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Oak Grove School (Ojai, California), you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. If you are editing as you stated "as an employee of the school", you are subject to the more restrictive WP:PAID policy listed above. Do not edit or enquire on the subject of this school until you bring yourself into compliance with the requirements outlined in it. John from Idegon (talk) 17:02, 13 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

As previously advised, your edits give the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic, such as the edit you made to User talk:John from Idegon, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. You were asked to cease editing until you responded by either stating that you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits, or by complying with the mandatory requirements under the Wikimedia Terms of Use that you disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Again, you can post such a disclosure on your user page at User:Warren.ojai, and the template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Warren.ojai|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. Please respond before making any other edits to Wikipedia. John from Idegon (talk) 18:20, 13 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

John from Idegon, please take a look at my user page and let me know if I am complying correctly. I noticed that all the work we put into the page is now gone. Will that be returned once this compliance is satisfied? Thanks. Warren.ojai (talk) 18:47, 13 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Welcome!

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome!
