Disambiguation link notification for May 31 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Loesche GmbH, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Consulting (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

December 2020 edit

Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:

  • Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
  • State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
  • Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.

Unblock appeal edit

Dear administrator, I am contacting you with the purpose of appealing the recent blockage that Wikipedia has applied to my account. I have read and understood the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements that govern Wikipedia and that have been made available to me through the following link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Paid-contribution_disclosure#Wikimedia_Foundation_Terms_of_Use. Although I now understand the reasons that have led to the blocking of my personal account as an editor on Wikipedia, I would like to clarify that I have not received any compensation for the content posted on my Talk Page and that the articles have never been written with the intention of causing any damage or disruption to Wikipedia. More specifically, with regards to the article "Loesche GmbH", I would like to clarify that I have never been compensated by any person, group, company, or organization to write or edit the article or to use or post the article on Wikipedia to promote their interests.

I acknowledge that once I read Wikipedia´s Conflict of Interest (COI) Terms I understood why it was assumed that I might have received financial compensation for writing and publishing the article since, at the time, I was an employee at a Spanish subsidiary company of the mother company Loesche GmbH, located in Germany, which I wrote about to provide a little insight of its history and evolution. Nevertheless, the truth is had I known that I was incurring a potential conflict of interest according to the terms established by Wikipedia I would have refrained from this publication.

However, I wrote that article without knowing that I was violating an essential requirement of Wikipedia and I would like to clarify that I was not asked or paid to write and publish the article, I did it voluntarily since there was not much information on the internet about the company. Also, after several years, I have made a couple of short edits with the aim of properly continuing my task as a contributor in a voluntary manner.

According to the above, I wish to confirm that my intention has not been, and will not be, to edit or create articles for advertising purposes in the future. However, I would like to request if it would be possible to consider removing the violation of Wikipedia’s terms of use notice from the article since my personal error of not disclosing my employment status at the time should not be a reason to compromise a company´s good name and reputation.

Thank you very much for your attention and consideration in this matter.

Best Regards. Vzuloaga (talk) 11:44, 18 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

For an administrator to review your request, you need to follow the instructions in the block notice to use the proper template. 331dot (talk) 13:37, 18 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Bookkeeping edit

If you will let me know which pages you have edited for pay, and who your employer and client were for that project, I will add an appropriate Template:connected contributor (paid) template to those articles' talk pages.

Likewise, if you will let me know about any edits you made which come under the WP:Conflict of interest guideline but which were not paid, I will put Template:connected contributor on the talk pages of those articles.

A list of your non-deleted edits can be found at Special:Contributions/Vzuloaga. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 🎄 18:34, 18 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Template update request edit

The article page is Loesche GmbH. I was an employee of the subsidiary company Loesche Latinoamericana during the creation and first edits of the article. However, I would like to clarify that I didn't receive any additional payment other than being an employee of the subsidiary company, and I understand this is where the Conflict of Interest applies.

The latest edits in 2016 were made after leaving the company but at that time I had started working as an external consultant. Although I didn't receive any payments for these edits on this occasion either, I understand that my relationship with the company also applies as a Conflict of Interest.

If you need any additional information please let me know.

Thank you so much for your assistance!

All the best.Vzuloaga (talk) 08:58, 22 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Follow up edit

Good afternoon,

I'm following up to see if you need any additional information from my side after the latest talk update on Loesche GmbH article page. I understand that a "connected contributor (paid)" was decided to be the appropriate template to use for all cases involving this article.

In the meantime, are there any additional steps o relevant information that you might need?

Thank you so much!Vzuloaga (talk) 15:53, 6 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

I received your email. You were probably unaware of it, but it's generally against the rules to edit "on behalf of" or, by extension, collaborate with blocked editors. Even if it weren't against the rules, it would be "in bad form" for me to edit on behalf of or collaborate with a blocked editor.
Instructions for requesting an unblock are in the box above. Bear in mind that administrators are not obliged to unblock you.
If you are unblocked, you can "ping" me to get my attention. See Wikipedia:Notifications for instructions.
Also, as a rule, I prefer to collaborate "on-wiki" and not use email for that purpose (obviously, that preference does not apply to certain administrative-type communications which may require privacy). davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 15:17, 2 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Follow up II edit

Thank you, David, and my apologies as I don't know how communication on Wikipedia works in this kind of situation.

Although being unblocked would be a plus, my only intention is to make things clear about the article Loesche GmbH.

In any case, I really appreciate your guidance and time.

All the best.
