July 2021 edit

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, such as at User talk:Meticulo, (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button   located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Hi Voice For The Unheard! Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia.

August 2021 edit

Hello, I'm Serols. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions—specifically this edit to Hispaniola—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Help desk. Thanks. Serols (talk) 14:45, 31 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello, please note Wikipedia:Article_titles#Use_commonly_recognizable_names. --Serols (talk) 14:47, 31 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Warning edit

If you reinstate those changes to the article again before the RfC is closed, I'll ask another admin to block you from editing the page. Leave it until the discussion concluded. Girth Summit (blether) 14:48, 31 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Can you point to the guideline justifying such action? Voice For The Unheard (talk) 14:55, 31 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

WP:EW, WP:STATUSQUO, WP:BRD and, ultimately, WP:CONSENSUS. Reinstating changes that have been contested is not acceptable. Girth Summit (blether) 15:01, 31 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

I see. Well it seems like I cannot edit the article yet given a semi-protection, which is tolerable, but as soon as I am able to I will edit again to leave the word 'Hispaniola' for now but include (Officially known as Haiti) as in the case of Bangalore, especially since It is not appropriate to use reversion to control the content of an article through status quo stonewalling. Voice For The Unheard, you can propose that change on the talk page. You will need supporting sources, but it might be a compromise that people would accept. Girth Summit (blether) 15:13, 31 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
