User talk:85.73.16.162 edit

Thanks re Sea Battle of Salamis. This appears to be one of many IP sockpuppets of AGENT 7 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log), who does little but add substandard (and always unreferenced) material to articles he created about Salamis, and vandalise the cleanup tags. Can anything be done apart from watchlisting and reverting? I asked for semiprotection, but they didn't think it was important enough. Gordonofcartoon 13:45, 21 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edits edit

Hi, there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot 13:57, 21 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Salamis edit

I'm not sure what can be done if they wont protect the page, but I'll continue to keep an eye on these articles. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Vlaze (talkcontribs) 13:56, August 21, 2007 (UTC).

Thx. I guess they really need someone who can read Greek to cleanup and source them. As you see, the latest is from 85.75.8.242 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log). He/she has added a sourced infobox, but the main texts are still unreferenced and at the level of "It is a nice place with the beaches next to the pine-trees and make an interesting combination". Although you listed the image as your own work, there appears to be a Comedy Central logo in the corner. Are you sure it's public domain? --UberScienceNerd Talk Contributions 01:14, 14 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Unspecified source for Image:Pinkknittedsock.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Pinkknittedsock.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 02:15, 30 April 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? cohesion 02:15, 30 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
