I have undone your edits on Bantu peoples in South Africa edit

I have undone your edits on Bantu peoples in South Africa. The content you added was moved there from other Wikipedia articles and removed the existing content, which is not available elsewhere on this wiki. Your changes were done without explanation, and I don't see why you think the new version might be better than the old. In addition, while you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. If you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 14:47, 22 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

February 2017 edit

Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing →   Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Categories edit

Hello. You appear to have recently created a bunch of categories that duplicate existing ones, for instance Category:LGBT Artists from South Africa duplicates Category:LGBT artists from South Africa. Please be more careful when creating categories - have a look around the hierarchy to see what already exists. You should always categorise new categories in turn, so that they can be found by humans and are accessible to automated maintenance. You should also have a read of WP:Categorization as you appear not to understand how categories work, and you might be better off not working on them until you are more familiar with Wikipedia. In particular you should have a read of Wikipedia:Categorization/Ethnicity, gender, religion and sexuality - sexuality is a particularly sensitive subject for categorisation, and people should only be categorised as LGBT if there is suitable references to support it.Le Deluge (talk) 21:37, 26 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, Draft:LGBT Culture in South Africa edit

Hello, Vicky Sutherland. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "LGBT Culture in South Africa".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Legacypac (talk) 09:15, 20 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
