-waves to the user who comes to help- I added an image that I thought wasn't a copyright violation, but then looked even further and found that it probably is (that the site I found it on probably found it at a copyrighted site, etc) I tagged it for Copyright Violation, but is it possible for me to delete it? Or do I have to wait for someone else to do it? Verloren Hoop 21:54, 19 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Verloren Hoop 21:44, 19 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi only admins can delete image or articles, so tagging it for deletion is the correct course of action. --pgk(talk) 21:56, 19 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Re: Roman Art edit

Hi, thanks for offering to improve the article on Roman art...the reward I offered is not much, it's as much a way of getting my lazy self to actually work on a couple of articles as anything else :P Ferkelparade π 23:06, 1 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Your name edit

You gave yourself a name (or did someone else do?) in another language. Why? Sorry for my curiosity ;) Patio 05:31, 25 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Curiosity is never something to apologize for. :) I'm fascinated by etymology, and the etymology surrounding "Verloren Hoop" is particularly interesting. Are you familiar with it? Verloren Hoop 11:55, 25 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

I found your poems interesting, but I was confused about the tone. Would you describe them as tongue-in-cheek or sincere? - Xed 11:05, 2 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

-laughs- I only wrote the last one, I have no idea who wrote the rest. But as for the tone of all of them...I'd say it was a usual wikipedia combination of both tongue-in-cheek and sincerity. cheers, Verloren Hoop 12:08, 2 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Lexapro picture edit

Hi! I uploaded a picture of Lexapro per Wikipedia:Requested pictures, but I figured I'd just give you the link and let you put it in the article where you feel it should go. Here it is: Image:Lexapro pills.jpg. I've also uploaded a picture of Prozac, too, if you're interested: Image:Prozac pills.jpg. I also wanted to say that you seem like an awesome person! --Varco 05:41, 8 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Wow edit

You and I are quite similar! I am 16, almost 17, and also live near Charlotte. I once identified as pansexual, and still agree with it in practice (though I am 98% of the time attracted to women). I too was raised Catholic, but I am a Lasped Catholic who is primarily atheist. I also see you have an interest in neurosurgery. I have great interest in neuroscience... I want to be a doctor when I am older and am considering either pediatrics (with a concentration in adolescent medicine) or neurology. I myself have a neurological condition, which makes the topic even more interesting. Hope to talk to you soon, maybe. Thorns Among Our Leaves 17:02, 21 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Tools you might be interested in using edit

I've found VandalFighter to be particularly useful for "watching" my watchlist in real-time, as it's much less buggy than vandal proof.

You may also be interested in Godmode-light a tool that adds a rollback button to edit histories without being a sysop.

Google Toolbar is also particularly useful for editing, as it will spellcheck text in a webbrowser, allowing you to easily check the spelling of your edits, preventing people from leaving those annoying SpellCheck messages. --Matthew 04:22, 5 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia:Untagged images edit

I want to start helping out with Image processing but am having trouble starting out. I posted my troubles on Matthew's talk page and he recommended that I contact you. I really need someone to walk me through how to help out with image processing and any guidance you can give me would be most appreciated. -- Jreferee 20:56, 10 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • I'm hoping to help clear the backlog by adding the correct image copyright tag and removing the image from the backlog list. I'm working on following the instructions at Wikipedia:Untagged images, but they are not that detailed. My first three efforts to follow this page led to three questions posted on Matthew's talk page. I'll post any other questions I have on your talk page. Thanks. -- Jreferee 23:52, 14 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
  • What issues with image copyright tags have been changed recently that need to be cleared up? Also, if you have a link or two so that I can keep up with such changes, please post on my talk page. Thanks. -- Jreferee 12:25, 16 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ace Frehley Image edit

Hi Verloren. so far, I've studied on one image. The Ace Frehley image (acefrehley.jpg). The image is from The Kiss Photo Album (at www.kissforum.de). who took the photograph isn't listed. it was posted by a user named rockstar. The address is http://www.kissforum.de/phpbb2/album_showpage.php?pic_id=7675. I shrank the image myself. Doesn't sound like enough to keep it up, or is it? 7:29, 22 January 2007.

Hi. Please indicate what you do with your photographical copyrights to the image. For example, if you release all rights to the photo, add {{PD-self}} to the template. / Fred-Chess 22:42, 20 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Binghamton mets logo.gif) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Binghamton mets logo.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. fuzzy510 20:41, 25 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image:Bust of Voltaire 2, Houdon..jpg edit

Thank you for uploading free images/media such as Image:Bust of Voltaire 2, Houdon..jpg to Wikipedia! As you may know, there is another Wikimedia Foundation project called Wikimedia Commons, a central media repository for all free media. In the future, please upload media there instead (see m:Help:Unified login). That way, all of the other language Wikipedias can use them too, as well as our many sister projects. This will also allow our visitors to search for, view and use our media in one central location. If you wish to move previous uploads to Commons, see Wikipedia:Moving images to the Commons (you may view your previous uploads). Please note that non-free content, such as images claimed as fair use, cannot be uploaded to the Wikimedia Commons. Help us spread the word about Commons by informing other users, and please continue uploading!Richard001 08:56, 23 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Centerforthehumanitieslogo.gif edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Centerforthehumanitieslogo.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Zedla (talk) 05:03, 29 November 2007 (UTC)‎Reply

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Wang Quingsong - Night Revels of Lao Li.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Wang Quingsong - Night Revels of Lao Li.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 03:19, 12 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Image copyright problem with Image:Frankee furb.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Frankee furb.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --FairuseBot (talk) 10:55, 11 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:Bust of Voltaire 2, Houdon..jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:Bust of Voltaire 2, Houdon..jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — ξxplicit 22:07, 24 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Survey edit

Hi Verloren!

I have put together a survey for female editors of Wikipedia (and related projects) in order to explore, in greater detail, women's experiences and roles within the Wikimedia movement. It'd be wonderful if you could participate!

Nomination of Anopsology for deletion edit

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Anopsology is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Anopsology until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Delta13C (talk) 13:21, 5 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of File:Lamictal tablet.jpg edit

The file File:Lamictal tablet.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:02, 24 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
