Hi I reverted your revert as there are no exemptions on private ambualnce servcies using blue lights/sirens except AFAIK being under the instruction of someone such as a Doctor or other person qualified who can allow you to run them. But it still sadly, as in the judges coments, is illegal to do so as a volunteer service SRV DMA type situation. I've also just thought about how they gain insurance for blue light runs without being asked to do so by a public body or a self insured situation.

As far as I understand, the law includes any vehicle that transports patients (Ambulances), including private companies. The issue was only relating to the use of other vehicles. Therefore your wording is misleading. --VarifiedEditor (talk) 20:01, 20 September 2014 (UTC)

As I see it the law relates to bodies allowed to use blue lights, for instance if I purchased an ambulance off ebay I would not be allowed to use blue lights (and sirens) on the road. the article I linked to says "The judges agreed that their use by civilians was in breach of road traffic regulations, but suggested that there might be scope for Parliament to change the rules.
