Speedy deletion of Johann, Count of Cleves edit

A tag has been placed on Johann, Count of Cleves requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Ironholds (talk) 10:48, 13 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hey, I've had to tag this lot for deletion I'm afraid; simply being a member of the nobility isn't enough for notability, in most cases. Ironholds (talk) 10:49, 13 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
How about merging them into the Counts of Cleves into Duchy of Cleves? Valerian456 Hush, Rush 10:52, 13 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
Since Cleves was an independent state within the Holy Roman Empire I've declined those speedies - those guys were heads of state and therefore notable. ϢereSpielChequers 12:51, 13 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Conduct edit

After you removed my speedy tag, I decided to watch the progress of Lego Jim. Your comments have come across as almost rude to me - I would advise that you read WP:NPA, WP:CIVL and WP:BITE. Other than that, keep it up - every user that contributes to the encyclopedia is valued. LedgendGamer 09:40, 14 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

OK. Valerian456 Hush, Rush 09:42, 14 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
After a quick look at your contributions, it struck me that you might be interested in Friendly. The catch is that it's only confirmed to work on Firefox, Safari and Opera, and I'm reasonably sure it's limited to the monobook skin. LedgendGamer 09:47, 14 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
No. I don't feel comfortable using Firefox. Valerian456 Hush, Rush 09:49, 14 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Rudolf, Count of Rhaetia edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Rudolf, Count of Rhaetia, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Historical figure notable for one event. Sufficient coverage provided at Bernard (son of Charles the Fat).

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Request reason:

I told you not to block me, and I even said please, but you blocked me! I also never vandalized! You guys are certainly insane.

Decline reason:

Sockpuppet accounts are pretty much never unblocked, so if you think you've solved the problems that made the original block necessary, request the unblocking of the original account, making a persuasive case that unblocking you would be good for the encyclopedia. FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 12:12, 16 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
