List of American film actresses
editHi and thanks for your edits to List of American film actresses which are careful and always with an edit summary (i.e. high quality). It would help though if you could package these systematic edits together, for example all the changes to one section you can make in a comfortable editing session in one edit, rather than making each changed line a separate edit. An edit summary such as "added death dates" would be fine in that case. --Mirokado (talk) 18:25, 12 June 2013 (UTC)
- Hello again. I see you have been busy! I am about to start checking entries in the list again, as I do from time to time. One thing I will do to start with is to remove the explicit colour formatting. This is generally not encouraged outside things like tables or navigation boxes. In this case there is no indication of what the various colours might mean. Please see MOS:MARKUP, its subsection MOS:COLOUR and the corresponding section in the accessibility guidelines WP:COLOUR.
- Some extra information which might apply to many entries could be better conveyed as a footnote callout, I can help with that if you wish.
- I can see the point of adding birth and death years, but I feel that adding the dates is "too much information", already available in the articles, will make each list entry too long and increases the maintenance or checking burden of the list unacceptably. I won't actually remove any information from the list until you have had a chance to respond though.
- Happy editing. --Mirokado (talk) 18:55, 25 January 2014 (UTC)
- The meaning of the colours became clear while I was editing. I changed each type of note in separate edits for clarity. Finished the format updates now.
- Adding birth dates for those aged 80 or above was a good idea and it does not seem to reduce the clarity of the list as a whole, so as far as I am concerned, we can keep that information. --Mirokado (talk) 01:10, 26 January 2014 (UTC)
