Speedy deletion nomination of File:Rita Maria Conte.jpg

A tag has been placed on File:Rita Maria Conte.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. How copyright law works

So I saw your file talk page message and since that image will be deleted (there is no getting around that) I wanted to post here instead. Permission from a person to use a photo on Wikipedia is not valid for our purposes here. In order for an image to be acceptable here it must be released by the copyright holder under a license that allows anyone to use the image, at any time, and for any purpose (including commercial use). The copyright holder is generally 'not the person in the photograph. It is the photographer under the copyright has been transferred by legal action or contract (such as work for hire). Unless it can be proven that the copyright was transferred, Rita Conte does not have the legal right to release the image to us.

So, the path forward here would be to get in contact with Rita and determine who owns the copyright to the image. Once that is done the copyright holder needs to read and fill out the form located at WP:CONSENT. Once filled out it needs to be sent to our volunteer response team. A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Rita Conte is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

I myself, as the creator of the page has included her major achievements prior to her appearance in the music video. As her talent wasn't realized much appreciably before her fame which came from the performance in the music video hence I couldn't find much referencing. I now strictkly believe that she is on her way to become even more successful and I'll be making sure I keep her page up to date regarding her achievements. Unknownbuddy (talk) 09:29, 6 May 2017 (UTC)
