Due to his close proximity to the area of the disaster of the century, the user Universal Life since the early days of the earthquake got immersed with the immense work of rescue and aid to the area. The situation is dire, way more than what's represented on the press. He's trying do his upmost in helping in the best way, to as many people as possible, so that they can survive. He is also trying to organise the messy administration of aid, while working with NGOs and cooperating with several organisations. He won't be able to edit the Wikipedia for a while or answer your to your messages.

Sir you have made the recent quotation which was been already debunked by David Wilson on his talk page . please don't further add any description about the article. Obiwana (talk) 12:27, 15 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Introduction to contentious topics edit

You have recently been editing the Arab–Israeli conflict which has been designated a contentious topic. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially-designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
refrain from gaming the system.

Additionally you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on a page within this topic.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Hi Selfstudier,
I actually meant to write to you and ask you: Why did you tag the List of de facto autonomous states and areas article that I've been creating as part of the Arab-Israeli conflict? It is a list of more than 200 countries and territories around the world and tries to be as little political as possible. Israel and Palestine is a very tiny part of it.
I also was going to tell you that you seem to be interested in the topic of states and autonomous areas etc. May be we could cooperate? --Universal Life (talk) 18:59, 21 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
There are two notices, one where the entire article is AI related and the other where only part is related, in this case the parts relating to Palestine and Israel specifically, which have caused problems in many List articles. I won't make a judgement now but I have the sense that the page is likely to give rise to some issues (not just the AI part where I have some issues that I will raise once the "in creation" tag is removed). Selfstudier (talk) 19:16, 21 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
Could you give me some hints, so that I might better the article, before removing the tag? I have intentions to grow and better the article, I could really use some advice. Should I add a lot of references before removing the "in creation" tag? And that would take some time and I don't think I could keep that tag long enough to add enough references. Is the goal of the article (my intention in creating the page) articulated well and clear enough? Right now, it is just a draft. And I want it to contain just enough political information to understand the present situation, not too much of it; I wouldn't want it to be drown with politics. I find the idea of a list of all inhabited areas of the world, differing in degree of autonomy very appealing. I'm guessing one of the problems you're thinking is some of the capitals I wrote. But again, if country X is governed from the city Y, "city Y" is the capital of "country X" no matter what the rest of the world authorities say. If 120 countries come together and declare that 2+2=5, should we just accept that? Anyways, hoping to hear from you. Thank you very much in advance :) --Universal Life (talk) 20:26, 21 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
I suggest this discussion continues at the article talk page rather than at your talk page and now duplicated at my talk page. Selfstudier (talk) 11:38, 22 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Obiwana edit

...has been blocked for sockpuppetry. They then thanked the checkuser who blocked them. Either they didn't care about what you were saying to them, or they couldn't understand it. I'm thinking it was the second one. Either way, making sockpuppets to back them up wasn't a great move, but it certainly helped to end things quicker than it would've ended otherwise. Thank you very much for letting me know and for taking action. I also noticed that after Obiwana reverted my edits, both User:Ruskmox and User:Xi'anlo did exactly the same thing, Ruskmox wrote the exact same edit summary. Both of them referred to David Wilson in the same way Obiwana did, without any link. Because of all of this, I had the intuition that they might be the same person, but couldn't be sure.
I think he didn't care what I was saying to him. May be also partially didn't understand, but mostly didn't care. Otherwise he would have asked what I meant. --Universal Life (talk) 06:47, 22 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
I've got some experience with dealing with sockpuppetry, so upon checking the page history and seeing 3 accounts making indentical changes to the article, I basically had to report. It looks like Obiwana had been carving a trail of disruption (whether intentional or not) across multiple articles, so it is quite helpful of them to go down the route they did, rather than persisting with milder disruption. Oh my, this page really made me laugh. It also made me think all the possible nasty stuff people do in the WP, instead of just being considerate. Btw, I feel like you really have a good sense of humour :)) --Universal Life (talk) 11:12, 22 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hagemaruii (talk) 13:12, 23 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

The account of the user Hagemaruii has been confirmed by a CheckUser as a sockpuppet of Obiwana (talk · contribs · logs), and has been blocked indefinitely.
Hi Apaugasma, somehow I had a very strong feeling that he was Obiwana. Normally, I always immediately answer, but somehow I was reluctant with him. Thank you very much for letting me know that he was indeed Obiwana (and that my intuition was right) :)) --Universal Life (talk) 22:29, 3 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
You're very much welcome. They may yet be back, so don't hesitate to gather some evidence and report when they do. In the mean time I wish you a very nice day, too! ☿ Apaugasma (talk ) 22:38, 3 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
