Help request edit

Hi Un8chimu,

Your talk page is not the place to store an article that was deleted. You should move it to a Wikipedia:Subpages until it is ok.

To improve your article, you should provide reliable sources to meet Wikipedia:Notability criterias.

Greetings,

Calimo (talk) 14:15, 31 August 2009 (UTC) {{help}}Reply

Hi guys I need your inputs once again. With regard to sup-pages, may you link them to articles or vice versa.

Thanks Un8chimu (talk) 11:29, 1 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Articles you are developing in subpages of your user page should contain links to other relevant articles. Other articles should never contain links to your user subpages. Algebraist 11:34, 1 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

The Cricket- Black Music in Evolution edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of The Cricket- Black Music in Evolution, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.chimurengalibrary.co.za/periodicals.php?id=28. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Speedy deletion nomination of The Cricket- Black Music in Evolution edit

A tag has been placed on The Cricket- Black Music in Evolution requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ceranthor 11:22, 12 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:The cricket black music in evolution.jpg edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:The cricket black music in evolution.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NW (Talk) 01:47, 20 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Dual licensed articles and CorenSearchBot edit

Hi. When creating articles using text that is dual licensed, you can use the {{dual}} template to give attribution -- I believe that CorenSearchBot is trained to ignore articles created with that template on, so you won't have a nasty notice stuck on the top of articles. Its usage looks a little complex, but the following I used for Molotov Cocktail (magazine): {{dual|source=Chimurenga Library|sourcepath=http://www.chimurengalibrary.co.za/periodicals.php?id=30|sourcearticle=Molotov Cocktail|date=15:28, 29 September 2009}} which gives As of 15:28, 29 September 2009, this article is derived in whole or in part from Chimurenga Library. The copyright holder has licensed the content in a manner that permits reuse under CC BY-SA 3.0 and GFDL. All relevant terms must be followed. The original text was at "Molotov Cocktail".

I hope that this saves you some time in the future, if you have any questions I'll do my best to help. Also, Wikipedia doesn't accept GFDL-only sources any more. Regards, – Toon 17:34, 1 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Images edit

Hi, I nominated the images you uploaded for deletion for missing evidence of permission, check here. Hekerui (talk) 19:46, 26 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

The article Black Images: A Critical Quarterly of Black Arts and Culture (magazine) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

the threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth and despite the peacocky claims made here, no independent verifiable sources establish notability

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Griseum (talk) 00:03, 1 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Ecrans d'afrique.jpg edit

A tag has been placed on File:Ecrans d'afrique.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
