A trip to the aquarium? I think such evidence of motivation is a valuable asset to any portfolio! Hopefully, the others are taking notes -tears earn absolutely no points! Keep up the good work - I think we have the makings of another GA! --JimmyButler (talk) 03:39, 2 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

What Have I Learned on My Wikipedia Journey? edit

  • I have learned how to make Range Maps. (Through personal experience such as trying and failing.) Some of my range maps: diff diff
  • I should not capitalize "sand tiger shark" or any other animal for that matter, throughout the article. diff
  • For section headings only capitalise first word unless a proper name diff
  • Scientific name should be in italics. diff
  • I must be careful with capitalizing names of areas. diff
  • The names throughout the article must correlate diff
  • I have learned that it is acceptable to make requests for help. diff diff
  • Try to align headings throughout the article. diff
  • I need to watch out redundancy, such as "sand tigers hunt....sand tigers watch....sand tiger swim...etc." diff

Nationality bias edit

https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Sand_tiger_shark&diff=prev&oldid=463528192 Why change this? MOS:RETAIN. Regards, SunCreator (talk) 16:58, 9 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Yzx recommended I change it to keep the spellings constant. Should I change it back? Thank you! --UND77 (talk) 18:18, 9 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
The spelling should be consistant, yes. I believe that in 2006(note metre, kilometre, Behaviour) and before it was in British English and so the recent change to US English is at odds with MOS:RETAIN and therefore is best changed back. Regards, SunCreator (talk) 19:10, 9 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

GAN of sand tiger shark edit

Unfortunately, sand tiger shark failed GA due to a lack of references. Everything else is fine though, so feel free to renominate it after you have found some more refs. Further detail on specifically what needs to be referenced is on the review page. Thank you. StringTheory11 03:24, 1 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
