Anon edit

No problem. They were working their way through multiple articles, vandalizing as they went, but looks like things are pretty well cleaned-up at this point. If you want, I could also semi-protect your userpage to prevent this kind of thing from happening again? That'll still let you and other good-faith contributors make any necessary tweaks, but will keep off the anons. --Elonka 16:09, 19 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Block edit

If they only come here to vandalise, then I think it needs to be "thank you and goodbye!" There was a bit too much knowledge of finding their way around for it to be a neophyte and purely genuine errors. If they think it too tough, they can request an unblocking. cheers. about 1999 FIFA Women's World Cup edit

1, so you were there, big deal, are you the ref or an official with any sort of authority? i dont think so. for the record i was watching it live on tv, so i obviously had a better view than you did. 2, the ref called it a save, i dont contest that the us won the cup or that the ref's ruling (or non-call) has legal power, but morally the us didnt win it fair and square 3, so leaving the story out altogether is "non-biased", i suppose? 4, dont slap a vandalism sticker on me jus coz you dont like what i said. i just want to argue for my case, that ppl should know the whole story, be it un-american —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.226.239.106 (talk) 19:49, 19 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

redirect on Yucca Mountain page edit

I was attempting to clear the redirect for capitalization -- for some reacon typing "yucca mountain" (all lower case) in the search window was redicting to an old version of the Yucca Mountain page which did not contain recent edits. Since you restored the redirect, it doesn't seem to do any redirecting at all, when "yucca mountain" is typed in the search window, the user just ends up sitting on the redirect page, going nowhere. Perhaps a server synchronization problem that is keeping the old version of the Yucca Mountain page cached somewhere? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.158.145.67 (talk) 19:08, 20 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Are you in any way a professional editor...like I am? I'm a newspaper and magazine editor and the capitalizations are incorrect. Any editor will tell you the same. So, I'd appreciate you changing them back. Or, I can do it myself.

Thanks so much. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.161.135.117 (talk) 22:06, 9 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Whoops, you reverted to a bad version. I typed in an extra 1 for the movements giving 112,818 which should have been 12,818. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather Have a gorilla 07:39, 10 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Adoption & Wikiquette alerts edit

Hi. I'm sorry to have been such an inactive adopter recently. I offer as excuse the fact that an erstwhile adoptee has been dominating my on-Wiki time, and I've had real world concerns like sick kids. I see that you're currently the subject of a thread at Wikipedia:Wikiquette_alerts#User:Twaz. I wish that you had drawn it to my attention earlier so that I could try to help. I'll start digging into things when I have an hour to spare. Is there any specific issue that it would be most helpful for me to address first? Cheers, Bovlb (talk) 23:24, 11 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

I've made a few comments. I suspect that you won't like everything I had to say, as I think you may have put a foot wrong here and there, but please bear with me.
By the way, you seem to be transcluding your archive page onto this talk page which makes for a rather odd effect at the right-hand side, and disrupts the use of section editing. It appears to be caused by this fragment "{{User talk:Twaz/Archives/Archive#1/", but I'm not sure what you intended here. Bovlb (talk) 07:21, 12 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Your Signature edit

Hi there. Following my comment on Wikipedia:Wikiquette alerts I notice that your signature bears no resemblance to your name. While it's not required, WP:SIG does suggest that "it is common practice for a signature to resemble to some degree the username it represents" and it does make it easier to remember which user one is actually communicating with! If you would rather be known as InvisibleDiplomat, that username is available, and you could easily have your username changed to that. See Wikipedia:Changing username for more information. -- JediLofty User ¦ Talk 12:58, 14 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

WP:Hornbook -- a new WP:Law task force for the J.D. curriculum edit

Hi Twaz,

I'm asking Wikipedians who are interested in United States legal articles to take a look at WP:Hornbook, the new "JD curriculum task force".

Our mission is to assimilate into Wikipedia all the insights of an American law school education, by reducing hornbooks to footnotes.

  • Over the course of a semester, each subpage will shift its focus to track the unfolding curriculum(s) for classes using that casebook around the country.
  • It will also feature an extensive, hyperlinked "index" or "outline" to that casebook, pointing to pages, headers, or {{anchors}} in Wikipedia (example).
  • Individual law schools can freely adapt our casebook outlines to the idiosyncratic curriculum devised by each individual professor.
  • I'm encouraging law students around the country to create local chapters of the club I'm starting at my own law school, "Student WP:Hornbook Editors". Using WP:Hornbook as our headquarters, we're hoping to create a study group so inclusive that nobody will dare not join.

What you can do now:

1. Add WP:Hornbook to your watchlist, {{User Hornbook}} to your userpage, and ~~~~ to Wikipedia:Hornbook/participants.
2. If you're a law student,
(You don't have to start the club, or even be involved in it; just help direct me to someone who might.)
3. Introduce yourself to me. Law editors on Wikipedia are a scarce commodity. Do knock on my talk page if there's an article you'd like help on.

did not know account was compromised. apologies for that. will reset security measures, etc. please unblock. thank you

Decline reason:

We don't unblock compromised accounts because we can't verify that you did anything that you said you did, or that you're not the person who compromised the account. If you are the legitimate account holder, just start a new account. — Daniel Case (talk) 00:23, 5 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Dear Genius, this was an admin account before it was compromised. Starting a new account means I will not have admin privileges. I changed the pw after I found out, and have not had any problems. We all know heartworm was a real exploit. InvisibleDiplomat666 22:59, 10 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

First off, this account was never an admin account. Secondly, as you have repeatedly been told, we do not unblock compromised accounts without solid proof that the current editor is the account owner - this is what committed identities are a big help for. And thirdly, making personal attacks in both your unblock request and the edit summary for it are a very bad idea. The Bushranger One ping only 00:02, 11 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
