Your {{helpme}} request edit

{{helpme}} I want to be sure i created my first page correctly. I would also like to add two pictures i took to the page how do i do that?

  • Hello TucsonArt, and welcome! I took a look at Charles Bolsius and it's a good first article. A lot of first articles get deleted because of various big issues. I don't see that in store for this one. I'm going to offer a little feedback, now, that's a bit nitpicky. That's a good thing, because I have nothing really big to complain about.  ;) Here are a couple of things you should take a look at: Normally, one bolds the article title, and just starts a sentence with it, rather than bolding the title and then repeating it at the beginning of a new line. Doing that will make it look a lot more like most other articles here. You also may want to take a look at WP:CITE for more information on the usual style for citing references. We have templates that make standard-format citations very easy, even for references to print-only articles. At some point, you'll want to become more familiar with WP:MOS, the manual of style, but the two I mentioned are the biggest points for a smaller article, like the one you added. I also marked it with {{architect-stub}} so that it is in a stub category to help other folks find it and expand it.
For images, a couple resources to get started are: WP:IMAGE about using images, and WP:UPIMAGE about uploading images. Remember that images (even on your user page) have to be uploaded to wikipedia, and have to be licensed by you for use (if you own the copyright) or have to be allowed for use under fair use or in the public domain. So, first upload the image to wikipeida at Special:Upload, make sure to tag it as allowed for use, then use the [[Image:imagename.jpg]] tag, with your image name.
I also removed your helpme and moved it and my reply to the bottom of your talk page. Normally, sections are added in chronological order, because it just makes following conversations and conversation history easier.
I hope my reply helps, and I hope it's not overwhelming. Feel free to reply here, or send me a message on my talk page with any questions. Welcome to wikipedia and good job on your first article! ⇔ ÆS dt @ 22:22, 7 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Pioneer Hotel edit

A tag has been placed on Pioneer Hotel requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
