Speedy deletion nomination of User:Tom Sandow

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:Tom Sandow, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. -- GB fan 21:01, 11 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Promotion

edit

You are very welcome here as an editor if your purpose is to improve the encyclopaedia, but you are in the wrong place if your only reason is self-promotion. Wikipedia doesn't do that, so it was accidental that your user page appeared in Google. There are strict rules about Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons, and you have a Wikipedia:Conflict of interest if you write your own autobiography. You are warmly invited to contribute to other articles. Dbfirs 21:00, 11 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

To reply. I can only apologise for this to happen. I was not clear precisely what my personal data page would be for except to place personal data? I did not purposely use duplicate names - I changed my title from Tommy Sandow to Tom Sandow and made clear that the latter name was the one to state is me. I could not delete the first account. But did not leave it there on purpose. You have only deleated me because I contacted you! I do not think this if fair. Wikipedia had only to explain to me my ignorance concerning the page rules to self promotion and I would have deleated my page myself. You make it sound that I am devious - I can assure you, as a successful business, I am not! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tom Sandow (talkcontribs) 10:43, 12 January 2016‎ (UTC)Reply

I have unblocked your account, I do not see any reason for the account to be blocked and the blocking administrator has not responded to my concerns. -- GB fan 11:24, 13 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

!sock

Your other accounts are Tom 'Slapstick' Sandow (talk · contribs) and Tommy Sandow (talk · contribs). GB fan asks me to believe that this is not sock puppetry. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 13:54, 13 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Well it would be if they were being used at the same time, and without disclosing the fact, but I would have thought we could assume good faith here? I'd be happier if Tom had done more to improve articles, but there is evidence of good faith. Dbfirs 18:00, 13 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
