Elliot Rodger edit

The video was on the channel, it's removed now though. That's why i put the channel link WikiOriginal-9 (talk)

I changed it to link to an article that has a copy of the video, but maybe it should just be a reference now. I don't think the channel link is appropriate until news sources are actually linking to it, as including it otherwise is original research; the video itself is fine because it has been reported on by the media. I just unsuccessfully scoured for such refs again. If such a ref exists, please provide it. ToBk (talk) 03:02, 25 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

4K internet transmission edit

Would you be able to explain why the content you recently removed from 4K resolution is dated, preferably on that articles talk page? The article should have a transmission or delivery section which explains what is happening with the technology. It should cover some of the aspects mentioned in this article, for example. I don't want to spend time on it if someone is going to remove it because the technology is advancing quickly. However the article is currently receiving around 5,000 hits per day so I want to expand it. - Shiftchange (talk) 04:25, 30 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Phillip Puckett edit

Hi, I saw where Phillip Puckett is getting a lot of vandalism and have s-protected it for two days after which hopefully the angst over his resignation will die down a bit. I do have one comment about your edits (and I have made this change to what you wrote). The Medicaid expansion is 100% dead on arrival in the House, where Republicans have an overwhelming majority, so it isn't really correct to say that his resignation jeopardized health coverage for 400,000 people, because they weren't going to get it to begin with. The 400,000 people suffering because of the resignation comes from McAuliffe's statement, not from media reporting (except to the extent that they are citing what McAuliffe has said). Also, one other thing to consider / suggestion - the resignation now takes up half of the prose in the article. (There is nearly as much about Puckett's resignation as there is about Richard Nixon's resignation.) So it may be worth either adding more or trimming out some of the news-ish coverage of the resignation so that it doesn't make it sound like the only thing the guy did in his life was resign. Anyway - I'm not complaining ... just offering something to think about. --B (talk) 16:35, 9 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Yeah; I hadn't read most of the sources yet and was trying to clean up the obvious junk that I stumbled on, so feel free to correct and trim further. I found another number citing 98k, but probably not worth adding (and do realize the expansion is DOA; definitely out of the scope of the article to consider the overall ramifications of a veto, etc.) I doubt I'll make any more edits on that article, but I agree the section is bordering on being WP:UNDUEly large. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
