Hi! No problem with the welcome, it's just nice to be friendly sometimes =) You can go here to see all new users, if you want to greet them yourself (you can use

{{Welcome}}

or the template I used). Also, I never have really attempted at images, but it looks fine to me. You might want to find somebody who has uploaded a bunch of images and see what they think. Cheers! jj137Talk 2:11, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

License tagging for {{{1}}}

edit

Thanks for uploading [[:{{{1}}}]]. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 16:06, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:61FCSJ7QK1L-5. AA240 .jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:61FCSJ7QK1L-5. AA240 .jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 06:10, 27 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. One of your recent contributions (Here:[1]) was in fact a personal attack on another contributor. Please comment on content, not the contributor. If you are having a content dispute with another editor; calmly explain your views and state why you believe they should be included. Please do not attack other editors, it is considered extremly unhelpful. The user's 142.67 and 156.34 are incredibly experienced anonymous contributors and they do not make mistakes. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. ScarianCall me Pat 17:14, 26 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading Image:BillGraham-coverpicture.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Unreferenced BLPs

edit

  Hello Tiger Eye 27! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot notifying you on behalf of the the unreferenced biographies team that 1 of the articles that you created is currently tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 870 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
